The 461-metre-long, 20-m-wide, five-lane bridge will take VND1.88 trillion (US$117.5 million) and two years to build.
Of the amount, VND622 billion ($38.8 million) will go towards land acquisition and be provided from the State budget. The remaining VND1.26 trillion ($78.7 million), the actual construction cost, will be brought in by the Construction Corporation No 1.
To be built under the build-operate-transfer form, the company will operate and collect toll for almost 30 years.

With around 8,000 vehicles using the old bridge every hour during peak hours against a capacity of 4,600, safety has become a factor.
Authorities have forbidden trucks weighing over 25 tonnes from using it since last September.
Road Authority No. 7 has also mandated a distance of 30 meters between heavy trucks travelling over the bridge at the same time.
