(ĐN)- To encourage people to save power and deal with the lack of electricity in the whole nation, The Vietnam Electricity Corporation (EVN) has launched a non profit program to sell energy-saving compact bulbs to people nationwide. According to information from Dong Nai Power Company, in 2007, about 60,000 energy-saving compact bulbs were sold to local people with no profit. In the first two months of this year, additional 4,000 bulbs have been sold in Dong Nai; this figure is estimated to reach 70,000 by the year-end. Energy-saving compact bulbs use up to 75% less energy than standard bulbs and last up to 8 times longer.
