
Presently, Dong Nai has 160 cooperatives with total charter capital of approximately VND200 billion and more than 30,000 members. During the past time, the cooperatives have provided jobs for nearly 6,000 laborers.

Over 50 percent out of total cooperatives is appreciated as effective operating units because they knew how to improve and diversify their services, making in-depth investment in renewing technologies in order to make high quality products; therefore, these cooperatives have created prestige for themselves and received many orders from domestic and foreign customers. Ho Nai Handicraft Cooperative in Bien Hoa city, Dong Hiep Breeding Cooperative in Thong Nhat district and Long Hung Construction and Agricultural Service Cooperative in Long Thanh district are typical examples.Ho Nai cooperative specializes in producing and exporting woven products made of rattan, bamboo and sedge, etc. Although facing many difficulties, the cooperative made all its efforts to secure a firm foothold in the market. Accordingly, Ho Nai cooperative’s members tried their best to develop new products with nice design and high quality to meet customer needs and expectations. Therefore, its products have won the trust of customers, both home and abroad. Currently, Ho Nai cooperative is one of the Dong Nai’s leading handicraft exporters with annual turnover increasing by more than 20 percent.
Long Hung has also been appreciated as the most effective cooperative in the province. In order to maintain its sustainable development, the cooperative has continued to improve and diversify its services to suit the new conditions. This allows the cooperative to enhance its ability to compete in the local and regional markets. Long Hung is now home to nearly 200 laborers with an average monthly income of more than VND1.5 million each.
With 25 members, Dong Hiep breeding cooperative has strived to overcome difficulties and raise the living standards of its members. Thanks to breeding pigs, its many members have been to be rich. The cooperative always supply safe and clean food to local consumers, meet the quality and safety standards.
* Focusing on market expansion and business cooperation
To enhance their competitive capacity in the international economic integration process, the cooperatives have had to applied advanced technology in their production and made all efforts so as to meet customers’ demands. Besides, they have strived to multiply new advanced models of cooperatives in accordance with the province’s socio-economic development conditions and pay more attention to training and developing human resources to catch up with modern technology, serve for production.
In the coming time, the cooperatives will establish joint ventures with other cooperatives and economic components in order to diversify of products and expand market. They are planning to raise their capital to further develop the full potential of the cooperatives that serve in both the local and neighboring areas.
