* Dong Nai General Agricultural Cooperative Union: a new direction in production and business

Dong Nai General Agricultural Cooperative Union was established in 2005 with an initial capital of VND 5 billion. The figure rose to VND20 billion in 2006 and VND50 billion in 2007. The Union plans to increase its capital to VND100 billion in coming time. In the past time, the union invested in strategic projects, such as trade centre and office building in Long Thanh town, residential area project in Long Hung commune, etc.

 

The Cooperative Union consists of the cooperatives in construction, infrastructure trading, handicraft, real estate, building materials, agricultural production processing, hotels, transport, tourists, etc.      

 

Mr. Bui Thanh Truc, General Director of the Cooperative Union, said that the link among cooperatives has helped the union to strengthen its competitive ability, take advantage of the strength of each other in order to increase income and improve the life of the members.  

 

 * Dai A Rural Commercial J.S Bank towards a higher position

Dai A is the first joint-stock bank in Dong Nai and its mobilized capital has been used effectively and increased quickly over the past ten years. Accordingly, the bank strived to reach total capital of more than VND469 billion in 2005, nearly VND690 billion in 2006; the figure is expected to rise to VND3,259 billion this year. In two years 2005-2006, Dai A donated over VND150 million for the province’s social and charitable activities.

 

The bank plans to expand its operation network and increase its charter capital to VND3,000 billion in 2010. This is the strategic plan of Dai A Bank to  upgrade itself from a rural commercial bank to a urban commercial bank in the coming time. Besides, it is necessary to further invest in modern technology, offer new bank services, improve the quality of customer service in order to meet the needs of customers, especially small and medium enterprises. The bank is also expected to provide the most up-to-date and convenient services to local customers and become a reliable supplier of financial services in the province.

 

* General Director Chen Pang Hsiung’s business philosophy

Mr. Chen Pang Hsiung came to
Vietnam in 1998, five years after VMEP Vietnam was established. At that time, he was a Director of Development Department that its office located in Tam Hiep ward, Bien Hoa city. He was nominated to Deputy General Director in 2005 and presently to General Director of VMEP Vietnam. After nearly 10 years of working in Vietnam, Mr. Chen Pang Hsiung is able to communicate well in Vietnamese. Therefore, it’s not difficult for VMEP Vietnam to launch products suitable for Vietnamese customers’ tastes. Until now, VMEP Vietnam has raised its total investment capital in the country to $160 million, of which charter capital was $58.56 million. Presently, the company’s satellite factories are available throughout the country, from Dong Nai, HCM city to Ha Noi. VMEP Vietnam has an annual capacity of 540,000 products and $30 million of components and parts. VMEP is recognized as a reputable high quality provider with products such as Salut, Elegant, Angel II, Moto Star, Boss, Amigo II, Atila, Attila Victoria, Excell II.

 

After 15 years of operation, VMEP has become one of the leading motorbike manufacturers in Viet Nam with skilled and experienced staffs. The company not only concentrates on the business but also pays much attention to its workers’ life. As known, the company’s entertainment clubs such as football, volley ball, badminton, tennis and chess, etc have attracted the participation of many staffs and workers.  Besides, VMEP has actively participated in social and charitable activities inside and outside the province. Particularly, over the past time, the company donated more than VND1 billion to help the poor, build 14 charity houses and 100 rural bridges. Moreover, it has also made efforts to assist disabled children, some of them have been employed to work at the company.
