The US-based EurOrient Financial Group is expecting to annually invest around US$1 billion to tap Viet Nam’s potential opportunities offered by its strong economic growth and recent WTO membership.

"We expect to invest around US$1 billion in three or four projects each year," Ron Nechemia, chairman of the private sector global development finance group, told reporters Friday.
Areas of priority include transport, ports, telecommunications, power, gas and petroleum distribution networks and financial services, all of which suit the development priorities of the Government, he said.
Nechemia said he had reached an agreement on a $120 million joint-venture with a local partner and a licence could be issued later this month. EurOrient would have a 70 percent stake of the JV that would develop a 120MW wind power plant in the north.
