Traffic projects in southern region win approval

The Ministry of Transport and Communications has approved a project to build the Dong Nai bridge, according to the Construction Corporation No. 1. The new bridge will have five lanes with a total width of 20m and a length of 500m.

The new bridge will have five lanes with a total width of 20m and a length of 500m.

 

The ministry also approved the construction of an over fly on the National Highway 1A and roads in Tan Van area, bordering Ho Chi Minh City, and the southern provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong.

 

The approvals also include the construction of tunnels and branch roads at Vung Tau T junction in Dong Nai province.

 

All of the projects will be built at an estimated cost of 1.6 trillion VND (100 million USD), including 550 billion VND (34.3 million USD) for site clearances.

 

The projects are expected to be completed in 22 months. Dong Nai bridge and Tan Van traffic point are scheduled to be put into operation by April 2009.
