(ĐN)- Speaking at a meeting of Dong Nai Tax Department on January 18 to review its works in 2006 and discuss tasks for 2007, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai ordered the Department make measures to encourage local enterprises to declare and pay tax in full and on time, strive to collect more than VND6,341 billion of tax in 2007, an increase of 18% compared to 2006. Besides, the tax evasion cases and fraud cases should be heavily punished. He also pointed out the need for Dong Nai Tax Department to further focus on training personnel to effectively implement its goals in 2007.
Dong Nai Tax Department reported that about VND5,754.8 billion of tax was collected in 2006, 4% higher than the year’s target, and increased 23% against the previous year. Of which, the tax collection from central state-owned enterprises increased 16%, local state-owned enterprises of 22%, lottery businesses of 21% and non-state enterprises of 6%. Nhon Trach district posted the highest in tax collection in 2006, achieved 204 per cent of the year’s plan, Trang Bom district reached 172%, Vinh Cuu district, 145%, Long Thanh, 132%, Thong Nhat, 123% and Bien Hoa city, 128%.
