Lafarge inaugurates its first cement grinding plant in Ong Keo IP

(ĐN)- On July 26, after two years of construction, the Lafarge Cement Grinding Plant went into operation in Ong Keo Industrial Park (IP), Nhon Trach district with a total investment of US$ 30 million. The plant is a joint venture project in which France’s Lafarge Corporation owns a 70% stake alongside a Vietnamese building materials company.

(ĐN)- On July 26, after two years of construction, the Lafarge Cement Grinding Plant went into operation in Ong Keo Industrial Park (IP), Nhon Trach district with a total investment of US$ 30 million. The plant is a joint venture project in which France’s Lafarge Corporation owns a 70% stake alongside a Vietnamese building materials company. The plant covers the area of 6 hectares and it has a private port with a length of 185 m to be capable for accommodating ships with tonnage ranging from 5,000 to 30,0000. The Lafarge Cement Grinding Plant presents the biggest foreign –invested project in Ong Keo IP. It has annual capacity 500,000 tons.

Mr. Guilaume Roux, Vice President of Lafarge Group said the Vietnamese cement market posts growth averaging at 8-10 per cent per year, thus, the presence of Lafarge cement aims to satisfy domestically the cement demand and will also contribute to increase Lafarge’s market shares in Asia. He affirmed that the factory is equipped with advanced technology and checking measurements to meet environmental requirements in the province.
