Especially, revenue collection from import and export tax stood at VND 1,333 billion, a more than 1 per cent increase against the same period last year. However, the budget collection of 4 localities in Dong Nai province including Vinh Cuu, Cam My and Long Thanh districts, Long Khanh townlet have not reached 50 per cent of the year’s target. The number of local businesses that continue to carry a tax debt remained in the first six months of the year.

Dong Nai needs to obtain increase in collections from domestic sales of 5 per cent and from import and export tax of 3 per cent from estimated target in the remaining months of the year to achieve the year’s target. Besides, stronger actions are also needed from local authorities in fighting against smuggling and custom law violations etc.
