(ĐN)- In order to meet the increasing demand of fertilizer, from the beginning of this year to now, Long Thanh phosphatic fertilizer plant has produced nearly 70,000 tonnes of phosphatic fertilizer and consumed over 81,000 tonnes (including 20,000 tonnes of 2005).

Mr. Nguyen Minh Son, Director of Long Thanh phosphatic fertilizer plant said that the plant has had to operate three shifts a day, but it could not supply enough fertilizer for the domestic market. In the middle of May, the plant could not avoid the decision to increase the price for its fertiliser because of high input material prices. Accordingly, it raised the selling price by VND 20,000 per tonne. However, the plant applies appropriate measures to reduce production cost aiming to avoid unnecessary price of fertilizer increases.

The plant is planning to reach its production target of 170,000 tonnes of fertilizer and 60,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid in order to supply for the provinces of Central Highlands,  South and Central Vietnam from now until the end of 2006.
