(ĐN) – A conference on regional economic development plan has just been organized at the meeting-hall of Dong Nai People’s Committee by the Southern Sub-institute for Urban and Rural Planning under the Ministry of Construction. Also present at the conference were Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee, Director of the Architecture and Planning Department under the Ministry of Construction and Directors of Provincial Departments of Construction from Ho Chi Minh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Long An.
The conference focused on practical ways to develop a strategic plan for regional economic development. The plan extended to Tien Giang province and combined with the consolidation of the existing economic hub including Ho Chi Minh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh and Long An. The Conference discussions concentrated in particular on issues related to exploiting effectively potentials and advantages of the economic hub of the South in order to design and construct a major urban corridor and foster the Triangle’s economic growth including Ho Chi Minh, Bien Hoa and Vung Tau. Realizing this strategic plan will not only see the planned area continue as the economic hub of the country, but lay out a blueprint for its future position in the global economy.
