(ĐN)- During the first 4 months by 2005, stabilization and the upward trend in export prices and increasing expansion of oversea markets and other favorable conditions are of great advantage to raise up productio n and exports for the local enterprises. The following export products are remarkable such as coffee with its capacity of 35,967 tons, it increased 68% against the same period last year; honey with its capacity of 1,358 tons, this raised to 66% against the same period last year etc. Turnover of export garment industry reached USD 12 millions, it increased up 18% against the same period last year. Turnover of other export products attained approx. USD 5 millions, this raised up 49% against the same period last year.

During the past years, the industry played an important role in raising up the local export turnover. It accounted for 80-90% of the total export turnover in the local. In the first 4 months in 2005, the local industrial value reached approx. VND 13,198 billions, it made up nearly 33% of the year plan and increased up 20% against the same period by 2004. There are 23 over 24 branches with their higher capacity than those of last year. They increased up 20% against the same period last year. The representative industries are food and natural drink, tobacco, textile, chemical, computer, furniture and wood processing and so on. It is remarkable that the state–owned industries belonging to the local and the Central Government as well as private and foreign invested industries have attained high value of their output. Especially, during the first 4 months by 2005, values of foreign invested industries have reached up VND 8,631 billions (in comparison with price in 1994), it raised approx. 23% against the same period last year and this accounted for 34% of the year plan. It made up 80% of the local industrial value and this made up 90% of the total export turnover in Dong Nai. Most of foreign invested companies including Formosa, HuaLon, Tainan, Chingfa, Tongkook, Hwa Seung, Vedan, Taekwang, Fujitsu, Mabuchi, Motor and so forth who reached high value of their output thanks to stable production and expansion of the domestic and oversea markets. Besides, during the first months in 2005, the following foreign invested company that expanded in rubber and plastic production are Piing Heh, Chaes Choi, Cheerfield Vina, Myung Sung Vina, Syndyne etc. The local increasing industrial output value is a result of active contributions of the foreign invested companies. Besides, this achievement has been obtained thanks to efforts of the domestic export enterprises including Vinappro, Vikyno, Donafoods, Dong Tien Garment company and so on. Though having difficulties caused by unstable market, high price of material source, they have overcome to raise their production.

During the first months in 2005, exports of the local home craft including hand-made pottery, bamboo chopsticks and others have been lower than those of the same period last year. This situation was caused by higher price of the materials than the export price of products and no new export market found.

Generally, the turnover of the local exports has increased but that of some export products such as hand-made pottery, bamboo chopsticks, black pepper etc. decreased against the same period last year. The situation requires better solutions as proposed by the domestic export enterprises with their slow consumption in order to increase exports in the last months in 2005.
