Dona Newtower – 10 year development for reliable trade name

In September 1998, the shares of Newtower Development Ltd. were bought by two big trade and finance groups in Hongkong namely Honsan International Ltd. and Golden Sino Ltd. At this time, Vietnamese partner changed into the Fruit and Vegetable – Agricultural Product Corporation. This change was remarkable for ceaseless development of Dona Newtower Natural Drink and Food Company Ltd. .

Thanks to a reasonable strategy, Dona Newtower has continuously obtained considerable achievements. Its capacity in the first year was 850 TPY. Up to now, the current capacity has been raised up 15,000 TPY that is higher than its designed capacity. The turnover was USD 16.2 millions in the first 5 years and increased USD 56 millions in the next 5 years. Passing 10 year operation, 80,000T products have been available in the domestic market and the turnover reached up USD 71 millions. They have paid over than USD 17 millions for the State budget. Their remarkable achievement is not only included rapid growth of the company but also related to their best products namely bird’s nest white fungus and ginseng soft-drink. These soft drinks with their trademark of Nature are reliable for the domestic and oversea customers.

"The both of partners believe mutually. Despite of lower invested capital of Vietnamese partner making up 30% of the total capital up USD 7 millions, Vietnamese partner acts as the President of the Board of Directors to be agreed by Hongkong partner. They abide by the Vietnamese laws. Initially, we did not know well the process. The process of making bird’s nest white fungus and coconut milk soft-drink has been transferred step by step to us while we were working together" Mr. Pham Khac Quynh as President of the Board of Directors of Dona Newtower told.

As this join-venture company had been established, estimated loss was to be expected in the first 2 years. It was unexpected that they had got profit after 1 year since the establishment day. From 2000 up to now, their annual turnover had reached over than USD 10 millions. Specially, in recent years, their annual profit had raised up USD 3 millions. Their present considerable achievement had been obtained thanks to mutual understanding, sympathy and being in the know of the culture of both of the partners, particularly, the local culture, Dona Newtower’s leaders said.

Their future strategy is to apply the advanced technology to their company and upgrade their capacity as well as research various new kinds of best quality and nutritious soft-drink made of the local natural fruits. At the same time, a plan of changing the existing joint- venture company into a stock one has been made out. They aim to post up stock exchange. Besides, they will attract added investment capital, expand their production and raise the reliability of their trade name as well.
