With GRDP growth reaching 10.01% in the first nine months of 2026, Dong Nai is demonstrating positive momentum in a new phase of development. Behind the growth figure are decisive leadership and management, a spirit of partnership with businesses, and efforts to remove bottlenecks to unlock resources.
In an interview with a reporter from the Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television, Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC) and Chairman of the City People's Committee, spoke about the results achieved, approaches to growth management, and solutions for the city to reach its 11% growth target in 2026, while aiming to maintain double-digit growth throughout the 2026-2030 period and beyond.

* After more than 50 years of construction and development, Dong Nai is entering a new phase of development with a larger economic scale and broader economic space. In the first nine months of 2026, the city's GRDP grew by 10.01%, including a growth of 10.21% in the third quarter alone. How do you assess these results, and what management solutions have helped Dong Nai achieve them?
- It can be said that Dong Nai City's economic growth in the first nine months of 2026 was quite positive, reaching 10.01%. Specifically, Sector 1, comprising agriculture, forestry and fisheries, grew by nearly 5%; Sector 2, comprising industry and construction, grew by more than 12%; and Sector 3, comprising services, grew by nearly 9%. Most notably, in Dong Nai's growth structure, Sector 2, comprising industry and construction, continued to play a leading role, with growth of more than 12%.
Rather than relying solely on industrial production, Dong Nai's economy also receives significant contributions from the agriculture and forestry sectors, as well as the trade and service sectors.
These developments show that Dong Nai's growth is generated by a combination of agriculture, forestry, industry, construction, infrastructure, investment, trade, and services rather than relying on a single driver. Among them, industry and construction serve as the primary engines.
To achieve these results, in addition to the efforts of the entire political system, the close leadership and direction of members of the CPC’s Standing Committee and the CPC’s Standing Board, particularly the decisive direction of the CPC Secretary, together with the management of the City People's Committee, have created a smooth administrative mechanism characterized by a spirit of "daring to think, daring to act, and daring to take responsibility." The spirit of accompanying citizens and businesses is key to thoroughly removing "bottlenecks" in procedures and investment sites, thereby unlocking resources for Dong Nai's socio-economic development.

* In addition to favorable factors in terms of infrastructure and strategic location, how have leadership, management, and efforts to remove difficulties for businesses affected Dong Nai's growth results?
- Dong Nai City has identified the goal of double-digit growth as a particularly important task for 2026 and the entire 2026-2030 period. The city is determined to meet or exceed the 10% growth target for 2026. Therefore, from the beginning of the year, the CPC and the City People's Committee have focused on decisively directing and managing socio-economic development tasks and promoting economic growth through a range of specific and flexible solutions under the motto of “working until the job is done, not until the clock says stop.” Leaders, departments, agencies, and localities are ready to work outside regular hours, including on weekends and holidays, to complete their tasks.

For projects undertaken by businesses and investors, we are decisively shortening dossier-processing times. Some tasks are handled within the same day or even within hours. We understand that the sooner a project is put into operation, the more time and money businesses can save, and the sooner they can create products and jobs and contribute to the city's growth and budget revenue. We also determined that growth management is not merely about tracking figures but must be directly linked to removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses in land, investment procedures, and construction. At the same time, we are accelerating project progress and creating the best possible conditions for businesses to start production and business operations. Through these efforts, we will turn resources into production capacity, creating substantive growth for the city and generating budget revenue.
* What solutions will the city focus on to achieve high growth in 2026, reach double-digit growth during the 2026-2030 period, and maintain this growth in subsequent years?
- Achieving the goal of economic growth of more than 10% in 2026 and subsequent years requires the determination of the entire political system. The CPC and the City People's Committee are focusing on comprehensive management across all areas of economic development, including:
In the industrial sector, the city is focusing on removing difficulties for businesses, accelerating project progress, maximizing existing capacity, and supporting the expansion of production, orders, and export markets.

Regarding trade, services, and logistics, the city will continue to stimulate consumption and develop high-value-added trade and service activities. At the same time, it will better capitalize on the advantages of its location, transportation system, and Long Thanh International Airport to develop logistics and connect production with domestic and international markets.
In addition, the city will continue to accelerate public investment and remove bottlenecks related to land, planning, investment procedures, and construction to channel resources into the economy.
To maintain double-digit growth in the years ahead, the city's perspective is that it cannot continue to rely primarily on traditional growth drivers but must gradually shift toward a growth model based more on productivity, science, technology, innovation, and added value. This is also an obvious orientation set out in Politburo Resolution 16-NQ/TW. The resolution identifies science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as the main drivers of the city's new growth model, while simultaneously developing high-value-added industries, the digital economy, the data economy, the green economy, the circular economy, and new economic models.
