These efforts include bringing local products onto e-commerce platforms and promoting trade connections and trade promotion activities, thereby helping expand the reach of local agricultural products.
Major trade promotion programs
Recently, the Dong Nai Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion has carried out numerous activities to support and connect enterprises and One Commune One Product (OCOP) entities, enabling them to participate in national and regional trade fairs and trade promotion programs. These activities have created favorable conditions for local products to be promoted and reach potential markets.
In mid-August 2026, a Dong Nai delegation participated in the East-West Economic Corridor International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair – Da Nang 2026 (EWEC–Da Nang 2026). At a joint booth, the delegation showcased agricultural products, food, processed food, fine art wooden handicrafts, OCOP products, typical rural industrial products, and specialties from about 25 enterprises, cooperatives, and OCOP entities in the city. The EWEC–Da Nang 2026 was part of the national trade promotion program approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with nearly 250 booths representing domestic and international units and enterprises.
Recently, the Lao Cai Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion organized the 2026 Conference on Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquatic Product Export Connection and Promotion. The conference is part of the Project on Organizing Delegations of Chinese Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquatic Product Importers to Vietnam for Purchasing Transactions in Lao Cai Province in 2026, which is being implemented under the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Decision No. 3838/QD-BCT of 2025 approving the 2026 national trade promotion program. The event provided an opportunity for Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises to meet directly, exchange information on their needs, learn about each other's production and distribution capacities, and gradually establish stable, long-term cooperative relationships.
Nguyen Van Linh, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, said the Dong Nai delegation attended the conference with 10 enterprises participating in trade connection and product promotion activities. The focus was on OCOP-standard agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, typical rural industrial products, and strong local products. Notably, at the conference, Mr Cong Pure Coffee Trading Service Export Co., Ltd. in Long Khanh Ward signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Chinese enterprises.
Ngo Thanh Long, representative of the Anna Dragon Fruit Wine Production Facility in Dau Giay Ward, said participation in national and regional trade fairs and trade promotion programs provided the facility with more favorable conditions and opportunities to promote its OCOP products. Most recently, through its participation in the 2026 Conference on Agricultural, Forestry, and Aquatic Product Export Connection and Promotion, the facility had the opportunity to directly promote its products and connect with enterprises from provinces and cities nationwide, particularly localities in the North, as well as with some Chinese enterprises. The parties exchanged information on product supply potential and established connections to expand domestic consumption and export markets.
Trade networking activities
Many departments, sectors, units, and localities in the city have focused on implementing trade connection activities, creating favorable conditions for enterprises from provinces and cities nationwide and those based in Dong Nai City to meet, exchange information, introduce products, seek partners, and expand commodity consumption networks.
Nguyen Thi Dao, representative of the Hang Gon Bee Keeping - Trading - Service Agricultural Cooperative in Hang Gon Ward, said the cooperative has received support to participate in numerous trade promotion fairs and trade connection activities, as well as activities connecting its products with local supply and retail chain systems. This has provided an opportunity for the cooperative to promote its honey and local agricultural products in many new and potential markets.
Against the backdrop of integration and increasingly advanced science and technology, in addition to continuously improving product quality, many enterprises, cooperatives, and farming households in the city need to make greater efforts to improve the effectiveness of building and developing brands for local agricultural products.
According to experts, effectively promoting trade promotion and trade connection activities requires appropriate approaches to markets and innovation in the channels enterprises use to promote and introduce their products. At the same time, enterprises themselves, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, production facilities, and local OCOP entities, need to proactively participate in trade connection programs, create distinctive highlights, and attract customers and partners. Alongside traditional trade promotion channels, enterprises and OCOP entities also need to pay greater attention to e-commerce development in the coming period.
Tran Duong Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that in the coming period, the department will coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant units to expand the use of QR codes for tracing the origin of agricultural and OCOP products, thereby enhancing consumer confidence in digital commerce. At the same time, it will promote supply-demand connections and digital trade promotion by organizing online and in-person trade connection sessions between enterprises producing OCOP products and distributors, logistics providers, and KOLs (key opinion leaders and influencers) in the area.
