Accordingly, contractors on the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project are maintaining normal construction activities throughout the holiday. At the construction site, nearly 1,500 personnel and hundreds of machines and pieces of equipment have been mobilized across 70 work fronts involving bridges, roads, and drainage systems.
Roadbed excavation and filling have basically been completed. Contractors are now focusing on cement concrete paving, asphalt paving, and bridge construction to ensure the project is completed by December this year.
Meanwhile, contractors on the Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway Project have mobilized hundreds of workers, along with machinery and equipment, for the construction package covering Phuoc Khanh Bridge, which connects Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai. Work currently being carried out under the package includes the installation of bridge railings, construction of the lighting system, and paving of the bridge deck. Under the plan, Phuoc Khanh Bridge and the entire Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway route will be completed and put into synchronized operation in September 2026.
The Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway Project and the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project are strategic transportation projects connecting Dong Nai and Long Thanh International Airport with Ho Chi Minh City and localities across the Southeast and Southwest regions. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project is of special importance in connecting Long Thanh Airport with central Ho Chi Minh City, as Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport project is expected to be put into operation by late 2026.
