Dong Nai seeks to attract more Chinese enterprises

On August 21, Deputy Secretary of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut received and held a working session with a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam led by Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei. Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Tang Li, along with officials from Dong Nai City's departments and agencies, also attended the session.

According to Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei, China is currently Vietnam's largest export market for agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, with exports to China growing by more than 40% in the first six months of this year. The ambassador said Long Thanh International Airport will open up significant opportunities for Dong Nai, not only by facilitating logistics and the transport of high-value goods but also by boosting tourism. Many Chinese enterprises are currently interested in exploring Dong Nai's investment environment with a view to investing in the city in the near future.

Speaking at the session, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut said Dong Nai City is currently revising its master plan and reorienting the development space for the entire city. The city's development structure is based on a multi-sector approach encompassing industry, high-tech agriculture, trade and services, and logistics. These will be key sectors helping Dong Nai achieve breakthrough development.

In the process of economic development, Dong Nai has attracted enterprises from many countries and territories to invest in the city. Dong Nai hopes to attract even more Chinese enterprises to the city for cooperation and mutual development.

Dong Nai City hopes that, through the session, the embassy will gain comprehensive information about the city's potential, strengths, and development orientation, enabling it to share this information with Chinese enterprises and encourage more of them to invest in Dong Nai. This will help open up new opportunities for practical and effective cooperation between Dong Nai City and various Chinese localities in the future.

China is currently one of Dong Nai City's important investment partners, with 466 projects and a total registered investment capital of over USD4.8 billion. Chinese enterprises are operating effectively in such manufacturing fields as electronic components, electrical equipment, mechanical engineering, metal products, as well as industrial machinery and equipment, among others.
