As one of the localities with a large workforce employed in industrial parks, Dong Nai has consistently prioritized improving the effectiveness of trade union (TU) activities by ensuring they are practical, closely connected to the grassroots, and centered on TU members and employees.

The close engagement of TU organizations with employees has encouraged them to work enthusiastically, enhance productivity, and actively participate in emulation movements launched by TUs and enterprises.

Reaching employees where they need support

Since the beginning of the year, TUs at all levels in Dong Nai have focused not only on effectively performing their functions of representing, caring for, and protecting the lawful and legitimate rights and interests of employees, but also on adopting new approaches to forge closer ties with workers. Rather than waiting for workers to approach them, TU officials have proactively visited enterprises to meet employees directly at their workplaces or boarding houses, listen to their concerns and aspirations, and recommend appropriate courses of action.

From late-afternoon visits to boarding houses and direct dialogues on factory floors to the timely provision of support packages for workers facing difficulties, the Dong Nai TU has gradually built the image of a dynamic, modern, and accessible organization. The application of technology to connect with TU members has also produced positive results by enabling information to reach employees more quickly.

Nguyen Minh Tam, Chairman of the grassroots TU at Pou Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (An Vien Commune), said the grassroots TU works with the company each month to maintain the "Happiness Bus" program, helping the company promptly understand employees' living conditions, concerns, and aspirations. Through the program, TU officials and company representatives visit boarding houses and workers' residences in person to check on workers, listen to the difficulties they face in their daily lives and at work, and identify appropriate support measures.

According to Tam, each visit also provides an opportunity for the TU and the company to strengthen their connection with employees while promptly sharing information and addressing issues as they arise. "This meaningful activity has contributed to spreading the care and practical support provided by the TU organization, fostering workers' trust and helping them feel secure in their jobs and remain committed to the company over the long term," said Tam.

In addition to providing care during key periods, TUs at all levels consistently place employees at the center of every program and action plan. Activities ranging from healthcare services and psychological counseling to support for TU members during illness, and from recognizing and rewarding individuals with initiatives that improve technical processes and increase labor productivity, are all directed toward improving workers' material and spiritual well-being and building an increasingly stable and sustainable working environment.

At Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tan Trieu Ward), the "Dream House" gift program for workers who have recently built new homes is among the activities that reflect strong humanitarian values. Whenever a union member fulfills the dream of home ownership, TU officials personally visit to offer congratulations and present practical gifts, including televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, and other household appliances. Beyond their material value, these gifts convey encouragement and shared joy as employees begin a more stable stage of their lives.

Le Thi Bay, a worker at Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd., was one of eight workers whom the TU visited at home to congratulate and present with gifts upon the completion of their new homes. She could not hide her emotion. "Owning a spacious house has been a dream that my husband and I have cherished for many years. Having the TU come to visit us, congratulate us, and present gifts makes me truly happy and deeply moved. This care gives me greater motivation to continue working hard and build a more stable family life," said Bay.

Building trust through practical actions

To ensure their activities remain effective, the TU organization regularly encourages employees to participate in emulation movements aimed at increasing income while also promoting digital transformation in communications to raise employees' awareness. Online information channels, social media platforms, and member connection groups help disseminate new policies promptly, receive employees' feedback, and provide timely support whenever issues arise. As a result, the relationship between the TU organization and its members continues to grow closer.

"Each program and model is designed to better meet the needs of TU members, better protect employees' rights, and improve their quality of life. Alongside innovating care activities, TUs at all levels also promote emulation movements that help employees increase their income and improve product quality while accompanying enterprises in their development."

Bui Thi Bich Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Labor Federation

At many enterprises in Dong Nai, grassroots TUs are introducing new approaches to member care. Instead of relying on one-way communication, many have organized sports festivals, workers' festivals, cultural and musical exchanges, online competitions, and social media activities, creating opportunities for TU members to relax while strengthening their connection with the TU organization.

Nguyen Thi Mai Chi, Chairwoman of the grassroots TU at Far Eastern New Apparel (Vietnam) Limited in Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park, Dong Phu Ward, said the grassroots TU consistently takes the initiative to innovate its activities to make them more attractive to TU members and employees. Many new models have drawn broad participation, including the "Ring the Golden Bell" competition, the Occupational Safety Knowledge contest, the 2026 Summer Sports Festival, traffic safety awareness campaigns, and many other beneficial activities. These programs have become effective communication channels, helping employees comply with company rules and regulations while working more safely, productively, and efficiently.

With a proactive, creative, and worker-centered approach, the Dong Nai TU has gradually strengthened its role as an organization that stands alongside employees. By listening to workers, understanding their needs, and taking practical action on their behalf, the TU continues to build trust among TU members and strengthen its organization as a reliable source of support for hundreds of thousands of TU members across the locality. At the same time, it contributes to maintaining stable labor relations and promoting the sustainable development of both enterprises and the locality.
