Joining hands to strengthen regional tourism links

Nearly 70 travel agencies, tourist attractions and accommodation providers from Dong Nai City and Lam Dong Province have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen regional tourism cooperation, aiming to jointly develop high-quality tourism products and services that cater to increasingly diverse visitor demand.

The partnership is expected to pave the way for jointly developed interregional tour packages that link the two localities' signature destinations and showcase their distinctive cultural identities. It is also expected to enrich visitors' travel experiences by offering a wider range of integrated itineraries created through closer cooperation between tourism businesses in both localities.

Expectations for stronger tourism cooperation

Many participating businesses expressed hope that the agreement would go beyond an MoU and lead to concrete cooperation initiatives. They expect to work closely with tourism enterprises in Dong Nai to develop regular interregional tours linking signature attractions in both localities, offering new travel experiences and encouraging visitors to extend their stays.

Huynh Thi Kim Nhung, Director of Huong Tien Tourist, said the participating businesses would become strategic partners through visitor referrals, market information sharing, joint organization of familiarization (fam) trips, press trips and tourism promotion activities, while leveraging digital transformation to reach customers more effectively.

"When businesses work together, our promotional efforts become far more effective," she said.

Lam Dong boasts significant tourism advantages, including its mild climate, spectacular natural landscapes, distinctive cultural heritage and a diverse range of tourism products spanning resort vacations, marine sports, eco-tourism and high-tech agricultural tourism. Meanwhile, Dong Nai serves as a gateway to Southeast Vietnam, serving as a home to numerous industrial parks, creating favorable conditions for expanding tourism cooperation, developing new products, connecting markets and attracting more visitors.

Nhung expressed confidence that cooperation between Huong Tien Tourist and tourism enterprises in Dong Nai would not only generate new business opportunities but also help build a professional, diverse and culturally distinctive portfolio of interregional tourism products.

"When businesses work together and share benefits, visitors will be the greatest beneficiaries. That has always been Huong Tien Tourist's goal," she added.

Pham Hoang Quoc Bao, Director of Tri An Adventure Experience Tourism Co., Ltd. in Binh Minh commune, Dong Nai City, said his company specializes in adventure and experiential tours, with Da Lat remaining one of its most popular destinations.

He noted that the cooperation agreement would enable his company to access preferential policies and priority arrangements when booking tours and accommodation for customers in Lam Dong.

Developing interregional tourism products

Nguyen Linh Vu, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said the initiative would provide a platform for government agencies, tourism associations, businesses and service providers from both localities to exchange experience, share market information, explore partnership opportunities, and jointly develop new tourism products.

He said closer cooperation between Lam Dong's tourism service providers and travel companies in Dong Nai would create attractive interregional tourism programs, increase visitor arrivals, encourage longer stays and improve business performance for enterprises in both localities.

"The signing ceremony reflects not only the participating organizations' commitment to cooperation but also their shared determination to pool resources, expertise and market opportunities in developing a more professional, modern and sustainable tourism industry," Vu said.

He added that the growing partnership between Lam Dong and Dong Nai would deliver practical benefits for businesses and visitors alike while contributing to the socio-economic development of both localities.

Lac Hu Ancient Town is among the emerging tourist attractions in the Da Lat area of Lam Dong Province.

Tran Thi Thu Trang, Acting Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said tourism can no longer be developed by individual localities acting alone. Instead, it increasingly depends on regional cooperation and shared value creation.

She said strengthening ties between Lam Dong and Dong Nai was not only a practical necessity but also a long-term development strategy to maximize the strengths and tourism potential of each locality.

Trang expressed confidence that the open exchanges between businesses would lead to concrete cooperation programs, new tour routes and long-term partnerships, bringing tangible benefits to tourism enterprises while enhancing the tourism image and brand of both Lam Dong and Dong Nai.
