Dong Nai moves to enhance efficiency of policy credit capital

Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, who also serves as Head of the Board of Directors' Representative Committee of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) in Dong Nai City, chaired a meeting with relevant departments, agencies, mass organizations, and units on July 23. The meeting reviewed operational results in the second quarter and the first half of 2026 and outlined tasks for the third quarter and the second half of the year of the Representative Committee and the Dong Nai-based VBSP.

At the meeting, Director of the Dong Nai-based VBSP Le Ba Chuyen reported that, as of the end of June 2026, the branch's total operating capital exceeded VND13.7 trillion, an increase of more than 13% compared to the beginning of 2026. Total outstanding credit also surpassed VND13.7 trillion, up 13% compared to the end of the previous year, fulfilling 96% of the 2026 outstanding loan growth target.

During the first six months of 2026, nearly 44,000 poor households and other policy beneficiaries in the city received preferential loans totaling more than VND2.9 trillion in support of their production and business activities and essential needs, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Dong Nai City.

During the first six months of 2026, the Dong Nai-based VBSP and its affiliated transaction offices coordinated with the People's Committees of communes and wards, commune-level entrusted socio-political organizations, and the management boards of savings and loan groups to organize 100% of transaction sessions in line with regulations. The coordination created favorable conditions for poor households, policy beneficiaries, and local residents to access loans and banking services, helping reduce costs and time while improving service quality.

In her remarks, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee and Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang emphasized that, during the remaining months of 2026, members of the Board of Directors of the Dong Nai-based VBSP should continue implementing the 2026 inspection and supervision plan while strengthening measures to enhance the effectiveness of policy credit capital.

She requested the Dong Nai-based VBSP to effectively implement measures to improve credit quality and operational efficiency, ensure that loans are provided to the appropriate beneficiaries, and that borrowers use the funds for their intended purposes. She also called for stronger coordination with socio-political organizations entrusted with policy lending and with communes and wards across the city to improve the quality of services provided to the public in policy credit activities, while enhancing the performance of savings and loan groups in the locality.
