Dong Nai launches plan to advance Vietnamese culture

The People's Committee of Dong Nai City on July 22 issued Plan No. 176/KH-UBND to implement the Plan No. 125-KH/TU of the City Party Committee's Standing Board, puttinginto action the Politburo’s Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW dated January 7, 2026 on the development of Vietnamese culture throughout Dong Nai.

The plan aims to build a distinctive, internationally integrated and progressive cultural identity for Dong Nai, positioning culture as a solid spiritual foundation, an important endogenous resource and a key driver of rapid and sustainable development. It also seeks to foster well-rounded citizens who embody the city's defining values of friendliness, compassion, civility and modernity, while improving residents' happiness index.

By 2030, Dong Nai targets the completion of a comprehensive network of cultural and sports facilities at all levels. The city also plans to digitize according to the approved roadmap 100% of cultural heritage sites recognised as national and special national relics, invest in major cultural infrastructure, preserve and promote heritage values, and accelerate the development of cultural industries in association with digital transformation, innovation and international integration.

Looking ahead to 2045, Dong Nai envisions cultural industries and the creative economy becoming a genuine pillars of sustainable development. Revenue from cultural services and tourism is expected to contribute around 3% of the city's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). The city also plans to identify and prioritize the development of five to ten signature cultural and tourism products to establish a strong tourism brand.

The implementation plan outlines nine key groups of tasks and solutions, focusing on renewing public communication, strengthening state management of cultural affairs, fostering a healthy cultural environment, preserving and promoting cultural heritage, applying science, technology and digital transformation, developing cultural industries linked with tourism, mobilizing investment resources, and expanding international integration in the field of culture.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been assigned by the City People’s Committee to lead the implementation in coordination with relevant departments, agencies and local authorities, while monitoring progress and conducting periodic reviews and evaluations.
