Elaborately staged on a grand scale, the epic art program "Dong Nai – Southern spirit, rising with the nation" recreates the 328-year journey of Dong Nai's formation and development through contemporary artistic expression, combining live performance, dance, symphonic music, and modern technology.

Beginning with the 1698 milestone when Marquis Nguyen Huu Canh was commissioned to administer the South and establish Tran Bien Garrison, the program traces a journey through the heroic stories of Red Phu Rieng, War Zone D, the Rung Sac Military Base, the victories of Route 14 – Phuoc Long and Xuan Loc, and Dong Nai's development journey today,. Each chapter of the epic is guided by emotional narration and complemented by poetry, music, and imagery, creating a cohesive narrative of the Southern land's history and aspirations for development.

The reach of the epic art program "Dong Nai – Southern spirit, rising with the nation" continues to grow thanks to the coordinated efforts of departments, agencies, localities, and businesses through a variety of creative approaches. The program also provides an opportunity to promote the image, potential, advantages, and outstanding socio-economic and cultural achievements of Dong Nai City while inspiring aspirations for development, innovation, and the determination to rise in the new era.

To ensure the program's values continue to spread, the Standing Board of the Dong Nai City Party Committee issued Plan No. 122-KH/TU dated May 24, 2026, to promote communications about the epic program. Pursuant to the plan, departments, agencies, localities, businesses, and units across the city have simultaneously implemented numerous promotional activities, bringing the program to officials, Party members, Youth Union members, association members, and the public, thereby carrying forward Dong Nai's spirit.

Hundreds of community screenings have attracted large audiences. The Youth Union, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, and socio-political organizations have incorporated viewings of the epic into political activities and traditional education programs, creating opportunities for officials, union members, and residents to reflect on the historical milestones of their homeland. Through each chapter, the people, landmarks, and events associated with Dong Nai are no longer static accounts in history books but are vividly recreated through artistic expression, making history more accessible and engaging, particularly for younger generations.

Promoting Dong Nai’s image

Alongside centralized screenings, many localities have proactively brought the program closer to local residents through local radio systems, fan pages, social media, and digital platforms. They have also organized essay-writing contests inviting participants to share their impressions of the epic art program "Dong Nai – Southern spirit, rising with the nation."

Director of the Dong Phu Ward General Service Center Tran Van Dung said the epic program is being promoted in a coordinated manner through local news bulletins, agency fan pages, and various social media platforms. Images, video clips, and introductory information about the program have enabled many residents to learn about the history of their homeland in a vivid and engaging manner.

Head of the An Binh Neighborhood Front Working Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Chi said, "Immediately after receiving the promotional materials, our neighborhood promptly shared them through community Zalo groups so that residents could easily access the program. Thanks to digital technology, the information spreads quickly, generating a positive response among officials and the public."

Alongside local efforts, the Dong Nai Art Theater continues to fulfill its role as a professional artistic institution by incorporating excerpts from the epic into touring performances serving local communities. Before and after each performance, artists take time to introduce the significance of the program, helping bring Dong Nai's history and culture closer to the public.
