Tran Bien ward launches mass movement on environmental protection

On June 6, the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tran Bien ward held a launching ceremony in response to the emulation movement titled “All People Join Hands to Protect the Environment for a Green, Clean and Beautiful Vietnam.” Attending the ceremony were Nguyen Minh Kien, Member of the Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC), Vice Chairman of the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Secretary of the Dong Nai Youth Union, along with numerous officials, Party members, and residents of Tran Bien ward.

Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Minh Kien stated that as Dong Nai enters a new phase of development with the aspiration of building a civilized, modern, dynamic, and livable city, the need for environmental protection has become increasingly urgent. He emphasized that building a civilized city must begin with cultivating civilized citizens, while creating a modern urban area requires the formation of a modern urban lifestyle. One of the clearest expressions of urban civilization is public awareness of environmental protection in the places where they live, study and work. Therefore, he said, the movement aims not only to achieve immediate results but also to promote sustainable changes in the awareness and actions of every citizen, gradually fostering environmentally responsible behaviors within the community.

In particular, Tran Bien ward – the administrative, commercial, and service center of the city – should take the lead in building a civilized urban lifestyle and serve as a model for environmental protection, thereby creating a strong and broad influence for other localities across the city.

To ensure the movement delivers substantive results, the leadership of the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee called on Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and member organizations in Tran Bien ward to develop specific plans with clearly defined goals, targets, implementation roadmaps, and responsibilities. According to the committee, the success of the movement should not be measured by the number of slogans or launch events but by cleaner streets, greener residential areas, the remediation of pollution hotspots, and, most importantly, greater awareness and responsibility among citizens toward the living environment.

On this occasion, Tran Bien ward leaders voiced their support for the movement and launched environmental protection activities. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward also donated the “Green Bins for Green Awareness” project to rental housing areas across the ward.
