Opening of summer activities and Dong Nai Children's Festival 2026

On the morning of June 1, at the Dong Nai City Youth and Children Culture House (Facility 1, Tran Bien ward), the City Youth Union and the Department of Education and Training jointly held the opening ceremony for summer activities and the Dong Nai Children's Festival 2026.

Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee (CPC) and Standing Vice Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Minh Kien, Member of the CPC, Vice Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and Secretary of the City Youth Union; along with representatives of city departments, agencies, mass organizations, and partner units attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony for summer activities and the children's festival, Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairwoman of the City Student Association, and Chairwoman of the City Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization Council, emphasized that summer is a time for children to rest, play, explore, and experience new things after a year of diligent study. Therefore, organizing summer activities not only creates a healthy and beneficial recreational space for children but also demonstrates the deep concern of all levels, sectors, and society as a whole for the city’s young generation.

Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union Nguyen Tran Phuong Ha expressed her hope that all levels, sectors, organizations, businesses, schools, families, and society will continue to devote greater attention to children and work together to build a safe, healthy, and happy living environment for all children in Dong Nai City.

Regarding the Children's Festival, this is the first year it has been organized on a large and systematic scale, with the goal of becoming an annual cultural event for children. The festival serves not only as the opening activity for the summer but also as a major celebration for the children of Dong Nai, providing opportunities for learning, recreation, exchange, experiential activities, and comprehensive development in a safe, friendly, and creative environment.

The festival is organized in two clusters, namely Tran Bien ward and Binh Phuoc ward. During the festival, children will take part in a wide range of engaging experiential spaces, including the Book and Childhood Space; STEM, robotics, and artificial intelligence activities; international integration activities; and various arts, sports, life skills, and experiential playgrounds.

Through the festival’s activities, the Organizing Committee hopes to inspire the city’s children with a love for their homeland and pride in the tradition-rich land of Dong Nai, while also fostering the qualities needed by citizens in the new era.

During the program, the City Youth Union launched the Dong Nai City Children's Council, with 125 members who are outstanding Young Pioneers and children aged 9 to 15, representing children from 95 communes and wards across the city.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded 25 Vu A Dinh scholarships to disadvantaged ethnic minority students and 25 of the 50 Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper scholarships to students in difficult circumstances who have overcome challenges to excel in their studies. In addition, the Organizing Committee presented 100 of the 200 gifts donated by Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. to disadvantaged children in the city.

Following the opening ceremony, children participated in activities at the Childhood Playground, experiential booths, and themed folk games.
