Under the decision, the city adds 15 areas earmarked for commercial housing projects and one for social housing by 2030, covering a total of more than 1,680 hectares.

Notable large-scale areas include 372 hectares in Nhon Trach ward, nearly 352 hectares in An Vien commune, 250 hectares in Dau Giay ward, and 180 hectares in Xuan Duong commune. These additions are aligned with regional planning and support the objectives of the National Strategy on Housing Development and the Government’s project to invest in the construction of at least 1 million social housing units.

The addition of these residential development areas is intended to help realize Dong Nai’s orientation toward expanding urban space following its transition to city status and to create opportunities to attract investment in real estate and urban infrastructure development. In addition to increasing housing supply, the initiative is expected to meet the need for stable housing among workers, laborers, and other groups, thereby enhancing social welfare and promoting sustainable economic growth in the city.
