Dong Nai City and Kratie Province deepen agricultural cooperation

On the afternoon of May 29, a working delegation from the Kingdom of Cambodia’s Kratie province, led by Director of the Kratie Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Try Sopheak paid a visit to Dong Nai City to work with the municipal Department of Agriculture and Environment. Le Thi Anh Tuyet, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Environment, along with leaders of its specialized divisions, boards and centers received the delegation.

At the meeting, representatives of both localities presented an overview of their socio-economic development, as well as their potential and advantages in agriculture and agricultural processing. The discussions focused on key agricultural products, including vegetables, bananas, pomelos, cocoa, rubber, cashews, and coffee, while also highlighting development orientations aimed at enhancing product value and expanding consumer markets.

A representative of the Dong Nai Department of Agriculture and Environment said that following the implementation of the two-tier local government model, the reorganization of administrative boundaries, and the upgrade to city status, Dong Nai has gained greater opportunities for socio-economic development. These changes have created favorable conditions for the agricultural sector to be further planned and developed towards modernization and high-tech applications, and improved product quality and value.

In addition to highlighting the strengths of their respective localities, leaders of the centers, specialized divisions and boards from both sides exchanged information on various aspects of agricultural development. Discussions focused on solutions to support and guide farmers in production, develop raw material areas, promote trade, expand markets, and facilitate agricultural product consumption. The two sides also exchanged experiences in implementing mechanisms and policies to advance agricultural economic development in line with the practical conditions of each locality.

As part of the working visit to Dong Nai, the Kratie delegation will tour several agricultural production models, specialized farming areas, and agricultural processing facilities in the city to gain practical experience and insights. The visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation and the exchange of experiences in the agricultural sector between the two localities, aiming for sustainable agricultural development and increased production value in the years ahead.
