Binh Long farmers receive 1.5 billion VND in economic development support

On the afternoon of May 14, in Binh Long ward, the Dong Nai City Farmers’ Support Fund, in coordination with the Binh Long ward Farmers’ Association, organized a capital disbursement program under the City Farmers’ Support Fund for local members implementing two projects: rehabilitating and caring for durian orchards in accordance with Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practices (VietGAP) standards and raising free-range chickens following biosafety practices.

Accordingly, the Dong Nai City Farmers’ Support Fund allocated 1.2 billion VND from the city budget to the project to rehabilitate and care for durian orchards in line with VietGAP standards, supporting 12 farmer-member households over a 36-month implementation period. For the project on raising free-range chickens following biosafety practices, 300 million VND was mobilized from local sources to support six farmer-member households, with an implementation period of 24 months.

Speaking at the program, Do Phuoc Dung, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City Farmers’ Association, said that the preferential loans are intended to provide farming households with additional resources to invest in expanding production and developing their economies, thereby contributing to agricultural restructuring, increasing income, and improving the living standards of local farmers.

In addition, the program encourages members to strive for greater prosperity, actively participate in local association activities, and contribute to farmers’ emulation movements aimed at building advanced and model new-style rural areas with positive results.
