Tan Phu commune was formed by merging Tan Phu township with the communes of Phu Loc, Tra Co, Phu Thanh, and Phu Xuan. Tan Phu is identified as the central commune of the Dong Nai province’s eastern region. During the process of building new-style rural areas, Tan Phu commune has a well-developed and comprehensive infrastructure system and a sizable population with abundant human resources. Thanks to these advantageous circumstances, Tan Phu can be upgraded to ward status in the new phase.

In this regard, Tan Phu's development orientation is to become the region's industrial economic "nucleus." Tan Phu will have the legal foundation and a new position to grow rapidly after being upgraded to ward status.
Attracting investment in industry, trade, and services
Tan Phu commune's industrial and construction products were valued at around 1.8 trillion VND in 2025, while service products reached more than 2.3 trillion VND. The proportion of industry, construction, and services hit nearly 74.4%.
The commune's trade and services have seen positive development in recent years. The number and quality of commercial establishments in the commune have increased rapidly, accompanied by a diverse development of trades and an expansion in scale. Currently, there are more than 4,000 individual production and business households across the commune, mostly in the trade and service sectors.
The 54-hectare Tan Phu Industrial Park, which is now located in Tan Phu commune, has an impressive occupancy rate of 94%, demonstrating its tremendous attractiveness to both domestic and foreign investors. Many enterprises have expanded their production and achieved high growth rates, contributing to the industrial growth rate and the economic restructuring of the locality.
This industrial park is expanding by 246 hectares in phase 2. In addition to expanding the area, this presents a chance to draw in high-tech industries and supporting industries with high added value. Tan Phu commune's industrial and construction sectors are in their initial stage of development and still hold great potential. Upon becoming a ward, its urban status will make it easier for Tan Phu to negotiate, promote investment, and strengthen regional connectivity. The establishment of the ward will also boost the strong development of the service, trade, and logistics sectors to support industrial activities, helping to shift the economic structure sustainably. This requires more systematic orientation and investment so that the industry, trade, and service sectors can become the driving force for local economic growth in the coming time.
There are currently sixteen different ethnic groups living in Tan Phu commune, with the Kinh people making up 91.8% of the entire population. Over 50.1% of the commune's total population lives in urban areas.
Completing urban infrastructure
Ngo Minh Tuyen, Director of VINAEGG Production and Trading Co., Ltd. (Tan Phu commune), which specializes in producing ready-to-eat quail eggs for the domestic and international markets, stated, “To support the development of our homeland, the company invested tens of billions of VND to build a factory for ready-to-eat quail eggs with modern production lines in Tan Phu commune. In addition, the company also made a bold investment because the locality possesses other advantages for investment and development, such as being close to areas that produce raw materials, having a good geographic location that connects to numerous provinces and cities nationwide, and experiencing rapid urbanization with local infrastructure investment. When Tan Phu turns into a ward, the company anticipates that local infrastructure will continue to be developed in tandem with the rate of urbanization, creating new opportunities and an even more advantageous environment for enterprises to invest and grow.
Over the years, Tan Phu Commune has continuously been one of the localities with a high rate of economic development and synchronous infrastructure investment. The proportion of trade, services, industry, and handicrafts in the economic structure has gradually increased while the proportion of agriculture has decreased. With the engagement of various economic components, the locality has capitalized on its advantages to develop a diverse commercial and service sector, creating an urban lifestyle that is changing towards a civilized and modern direction. To date, Tan Phu Commune has fulfilled all requirements and standards for the creation of a ward, and the residents' quality of life has been steadily rising. There is a growing and concentrated demand for investing in houses as well as public works and social welfare projects in the commune. Tan Phu is gradually forming an increasingly spacious and modern urban appearance.
Nguyen Nhat Hong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Phu commune, emphasized that the ultimate goal of establishing Tan Phu Ward is to serve the people, taking the people’s satisfaction and quality of life as the measure of value. The goal of establishing the ward, in tandem with the completion of synchronous technical infrastructure, is to ensure that the residents of Tan Phu ward in the future will benefit from synchronous urban transport, public lighting, water supply and drainage systems, and waste treatment facilities in accordance with modern standards. The “bottlenecks” in rural transport infrastructure will be replaced by civilized, clean, and beautiful streets, contributing to transforming the appearance of Tan Phu.
