Dong Nai leaders pay tribute at martyrs’ cemetery

On April 28 morning, in commemoration of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975–2026), a delegation of leaders from the Provincial Party Committee (PPC), People’s Council, People’s Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFFC) of Dong Nai Province, headed by Ton Ngoc Hanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the PPC, and Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, offered incense in tribute to heroic martyrs at Binh Phuoc Martyrs’ Cemetery in Dong Tam commune, Dong Nai province.

Ha Anh Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial VFFC; along with members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee; former provincial leaders; as well as representatives from departments, sectors, localities, and units attended the ceremony.

In an atmosphere of solemnity and deep reverence, delegates offered incense and flowers while observing a minute of silence to honor the immense sacrifices of heroic martyrs across the country, who fought bravely and laid down their lives for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

At the same time, the delegation reported to the spirits of the martyrs on the province’s socio-economic achievements, as well as efforts to ensure national defense and security, particularly after the provincial merger. Notably, during the first session of the 16th National Assembly, the National Assembly voted to approve the resolution establishing 10 wards in Dong Nai province and the formation of Dong Nai City.

Binh Phuoc Martyrs’ Cemetery in Dong Tam commune, Dong Nai Province, is currently the resting place of more than 5,100 martyrs, including 5,158 individual graves and 25 collective graves, each containing between two and six sets of remains. These are fallen heroes who bravely sacrificed their lives during the resistance wars to defend national independence and freedom.

Immediately following the memorial ceremony, provincial incumbent and former leaders, and representatives of departments, sectors, localities, and units offered incense at the graves of the heroic martyrs.
