Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Vo Tan Duc, Deputy Secretary of the PPC; Huynh Thi Hang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Thai Bao, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Head of the PPC’s Organization Commission; along with members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the provincial armed forces, and representatives of departments, sectors, and mass organizations also attended the event.
Located in Long Binh ward, the Provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery is the final resting place of more than 4,200 martyrs, including 4,139 individual graves and two collective graves. On major holidays, Lunar New Year (Tet), and commemorative occasions, it serves as a sacred site where delegations of leaders, cadres and citizens from both within and beyond the province come to offer incense and flowers in tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of national liberation.
In an atmosphere of solemnity and reverence, provincial leaders and delegates observed a minute of silence to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who devoted their lives to the struggle for national independence and the defense of the Fatherland.

Inheriting the revolutionary tradition of previous generations, and thanks to the unity and resilience of the entire political system and local people, Dong Nai has achieved strong development strides, particularly after the administrative merger. Notably, at the first session of the 16th National Assembly, the National Assembly voted to approve the resolution establishing Dong Nai City, effective from April 30, 2026. Dong Nai becomes the country’s seventh city, established on the basis of the province’s current natural area and population scale.

This marks an especially significant historical milestone, reflecting the Central Government’s recognition of Dong Nai’s comprehensive development achievements in recent years. At the same time, it opens up new development space and creates a powerful impetus for Dong Nai to accelerate, develop rapidly and sustainably, and emerge as an important national growth pole in the new era.
Following the memorial ceremony, delegates continued offering incense at the Martyrs’ Memorial Monument, the Temple of President Ho Chi Minh and the graves of martyrs at the Provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery.
