Dau Giay has long been known as a major transport hub, a "gateway" connecting Dong Nai and the Southeast with the Central Highlands and the South Central Coast. Taking advantage of these enormous advantages, Dau Giay is rapidly transforming into a new urban driver of Dong Nai’s development.
Dau Giay is considered to be located in a “golden coordinate” at the intersection of national arteries, including National Highway 1 and National Highway 20. It is also connected to expressways that have been or are about to be built, such as the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, and the Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway.

Thanks to a well-developed interregional transport network, Dau Giay is acting as a transit hub developing logistics and warehousing to effectively support the supply chain and industrial production for the entire region.
A significant urbanization process is taking place in Dau Giay. Its economic structure is rising positively towards an increasing proportion of industry, construction, and services. All aspects of economic, cultural, and social life have seen strong development.
On March 28, the 1st session of the 11th Dong Nai Provincial People's Council, for the 2026-2031 term, passed the "Resolution approving the policy of establishing the wards: Long Thanh, Nhon Trach, Trang Bom, Xuan Loc, Dau Giay, Tan Phu, Tri An, Dong Phu, Tan Khai, and Loc Ninh in Dong Nai province" based on the communes' current status.
After being promoted from a commune to a ward, Dau Giay will satisfy the requirements for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of state management, in accordance with the rate of urbanization, population structure, economic structure, and the locality’s overall development orientation. This will also create favorable conditions to mobilize investment resources, complete technical and social infrastructure, enhance urban architecture and landscape, protect the environment, and improve the residents’ quality of life.
