Ho Van Ha, member of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, signed Decision No. 411/QD-UBND dated January 30, 2026, on the establishment of a task force to implement the project to extend the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line to the provincial administrative center and Long Thanh International Airport (referred to as the Task Force).

According to the decision, Nguyen Anh Tuan, member of the provincial Party Committee and Director of the Department of Construction, has been appointed head of the Task Force, while Duong Van Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, will serve as Standing Deputy Head. The Task Force also includes representatives from several relevant provincial departments and agencies.
The Task Force is responsible for advising the provincial People’s Committee on the implementation of the project in accordance with legal regulations; researching and drafting special and specific mechanisms and policies to develop Dong Nai’s urban railway network; advising the provincial People’s Committee on handling matters within its authority or reporting to the provincial People’s Council, the Standing members of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee on relevant issues as prescribed; and advising on providing explanations and finalizing contents in response to feedback and requirements from central ministries and agencies.
The Task Force is authorized to request relevant agencies and units to provide information and coordinate in implementation in order to address difficulties and issues falling under the jurisdiction of ministries, sectors, and local authorities.
Previously, on December 10, 2025, the 8th session of the 10th Dong Nai provincial People’s Council adopted a resolution assigning the Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee as the competent authority to implement the investment project to extend the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line to the new provincial administrative center of Dong Nai and Long Thanh Airport.
The project will be implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) model and will pass through two provincial-level administrative units, Dong Nai province and Ho Chi Minh City. The total length of the metro line within Dong Nai is 41.4 km, comprising three main sections: Section 1, from station S0 – Tan Van to the new Dong Nai provincial administrative center station (SC), with a length of about 6.1 km; Section 2, from the administrative center station (SC) to station SA (of the Thu Thiem – Long Thanh railway line), about 28.2 km long; and Section 3, extending into Long Thanh Airport, with a length of about 7.1 km.
The project’s preliminary total investment is estimated at more than VND 60 trillion, with an implementation period from 2025 to 2029.
The investment project to extend the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien metro line to the new Dong Nai provincial administrative center and Long Thanh Airport has also been added to the appendix issued together with Resolution No. 188/2025/QH15 dated February 19, 2025, of the National Assembly, on piloting a number of special and specific mechanisms and policies for the development of urban railway networks in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
