Approval of plan for development of concentrated agricultural production areas

The plan for the development of concentrated agricultural production areas in Dong Nai province was officially approved on December 30, 2025, by Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang under Decision No. 3380/QD-UBND.

The plan outlines objectives through 2030, with a broader strategic vision extending to 2050.

The plan outlines the overarching goal of developing Dong Nai’s commercial farming zones stably and sustainably, with a focus on the province’s key crops. It aims to leverage natural advantages, household farming resources, and existing infrastructure, while promoting the integrated adoption of modern agricultural technologies and improving farmers’ knowledge and production practices. The strategy also seeks to enhance the commercialization and long-term sustainability of agricultural value chains, thereby increasing economic efficiency for local producers.

It calls for crop restructuring and the reorganization of production areas and acreage to strengthen competitiveness and better align with market demand. The plan encourages flexible transitions between food and cash crops, as well as among organic agriculture, ecological farming integrated with tourism, and circular farming systems, with an emphasis on reducing emissions and adopting environmentally sustainable practices.

By 2030, concentrated commercial farming zones are expected to account for 45–50% of the province’s total agricultural land in focused production areas. All key fruit crops and 60% of vegetable crops are targeted to incorporate high-tech applications and mechanization, either partially or fully. Agricultural production value per hectare is projected to reach 180–200 million VND, reflecting a significant improvement in productivity and efficiency.

Looking ahead to 2050, the province envisions developing modern, ecologically sustainable, and environmentally friendly agricultural hubs. These areas will feature high-tech farming with green, clean, safe, and sustainable models, as well as large-scale ecological production, high-value crops, and outputs capable of competing in international markets.
