Dong Nai: Many tourist attractions offer promotions for National Day holiday

The five-day National Day holiday (September 2) is also the final peak period of the summer tourism season, providing tourist destinations across Dong Nai with an opportunity to launch promotions and attract visitors.

Destinations including Suoi Mo Park, Buu Long Tourist Area, Son Tien Ecotourism City, Thien Tam Resort, Bo Cap Vang Ecotourism Area, Cat Tien National Park, Bu Gia Map National Park, Dong Nai Nature-Culture Reserve, and the Headquarters of the Southern Liberation Army Command (Ta Thiet Base) are ready to welcome visitors throughout the holiday.

A range of promotional programs

Buu Long Tourist Area in Tran Bien Ward has prepared a variety of recreational, artistic, and culinary activities for visitors throughout the holiday. Nguyen Danh Thinh, Acting Director of Buu Long Tourist Area, said that from August 29 through September 2, visitors will be able to take part in a wide range of entertainment and culinary experiences and enjoy special art performances.

This year's holiday program at Buu Long Tourist Area will feature 30 booths offering 150 dishes at a Folk Food Fair, along with a “boats on the river, markets on the shore” space in the Valley of Love, recreating the trading and exchange activities of people in Southern Vietnam. The program will also include performances of traditional southern folk songs at scheduled times, with the new experience expected to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

Dong Nai currently has 28 operating tourist areas and attractions that offer various types of tourism, including sightseeing, entertainment, ecotourism, sports, and religious and cultural tourism. The city has 225 tourist accommodation establishments with more than 5,800 rooms, including 36 properties rated from one to five stars.

Notably, on August 28, before the holiday officially begins, Buu Long Tourist Area will offer free admission to all visitors as part of the Dong Nai Food Festival. Chefs from the Dong Nai Chefs Association will prepare 106 dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

Other destinations, including Son Tien, Bo Cap Vang, and Suoi Mo Park, are also ready to welcome visitors with festive red-and-yellow decorations and new recreational activities.

Nguyen Thanh Sang, Director of Bo Cap Vang Ecotourism Area, said the site has completely replaced its inflatable obstacle course system with a new design featuring multiple obstacles for groups of visitors to climb, cross, and balance on as they take part in water activities. Visitors can also enjoy river bathing, boating, stand-up paddleboarding, water slides, and speedboat rides, as well as off-road vehicle activities in the forest, trampoline jumping, archery, and dart throwing.

In addition to recreational activities, Bo Cap Vang offers a range of rustic local specialties, including clay-pot-roasted chicken, fire-roasted snakehead fish, and grilled wild boar.

Other tourist attractions are also offering promotions for the holiday. Son Tien is offering discounted admission to Dong Nai residents, students, and university students. Meanwhile, Suoi Mo Park has been decorated with colorful flags and flowers, creating attractive settings for visitors to capture memorable moments.

Ensuring tourist safety during the holiday

To ensure visitor safety, tourist attractions have proactively inspected equipment and arranged sufficient personnel to serve visitors. Destinations offering water-based activities and adventure tourism have also deployed rescue teams meeting safety requirements to protect visitors during the September 2 holiday peak.

Alongside preparations by individual destinations, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a directive requiring agencies, local authorities, and businesses in the tourism and transport sectors to implement measures to ensure security and safety throughout the holiday period.

Accordingly, commune- and ward-level People's Committees, tourist destinations, and travel service providers are required to assess local conditions and develop plans for serving tourists during the holiday. Functional forces have also been instructed to strengthen inspections and ensure public security, traffic safety, fire prevention and fighting, environmental sanitation, and food safety at tourist attractions and tourism service establishments. They are also required to review all facilities serving visitors, particularly warning and directional signs, reception areas, parking lots, restrooms, and recreational facilities.

At destinations offering water-based entertainment, tourist transport operators must strictly comply with regulations on security and traffic safety, particularly inland waterway safety. Safety conditions must be inspected before and throughout the process of serving visitors.
