
Phu Quoc, Vietnams largest island is situated in the gulf of Thailand. The drop-shaped island is 48 km in length, and from 3 to 28 km breadthwise. all in all it has 1320 square km and about 70000 inhabitants are living on it.
Off the coast of the island emerges a group of 105 islands of all sizes. Some of them are densely inhabited such as Hon Tre and Kien Hai, 25 km from Rach Gia. Visitors can spend time on the beach or hike while observing the wild animals.

River cruising, visiting fish-sauce factories and pepper plantations, jungle-trekking to the waterfall, boat trips to an thoi islands with snorkelling and fishing, enjoying the countless lonely beaches, marvelling the local products at the market, try to find the whale museum.
Since March 2002 there is also a diving-base on Phu Quoc. It is located 1 kilometre down south of Duong Dong.

The climate in Phu Quoc is monsoon tropical. The weather is not much varies all year round. The annual average temperature varies between 27 and 27.50C.

The island is well known for its high-quality fish sauce; Phu Quoc fish sauce smells particularly good since it is made from a small fish, ca com, with a high level of protein. How to get there:
By plane: there are at least three daily flights from Saigon for 35 US Dollar one-way and 3-4 flights a week from Rach Gia for 22 US Dollar one-way.
