Ban Gioc Fall

Ban Gioc Fall is the probably the most beautiful and imposing waterfall in Vietnam. It situated in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district in Cao Bang province, near the Sino-Vietnamese border. The echo of the falls can be heard kilometers away from Trung Khanh.

Water flowing cascades over the rock creating water droplets columns that can be seen from a distance. In the middle of the fall is a rock landing covered by trees that divides the stream into three currents. It looks like three white silk bands  and makes a slight mist that cools down the temperature.

A large river is at the foot of the waterfall , as calm as glass, surrounded by verdant grass and forest. Nguom Ngao cavern nearby is one of the most beautiful cavern in Viet Nam .

Ban Gioc Fall is not only an attractive tour spot but also a potential hydroelectric resource in the near future.

Weather:

Temperate climate. There are four seasons in the year: spring, summer. autumn. winter. The average temperature is 25 - 28⁰C in summer, 16 - 17⁰C in winter. Sometimes it has snow in winter.

Soecialities: Trung Khanh chesnut.

How to get there:

Cao Bang is 272 km of Ha Noi. From Cao Bang townlet, continue going 65 km to Trung Khanh. Ban Gioc Fall is 20km northeast of Trung Khanh.

We can get there only by bus (about 9 hours).

Buses to Cao Bang province start at Me Tri Bus Station at 6h a.m, 8h a.m, ticket price: 60,000VND. Stop at Cao Bang bus station and then take a bus to Ban Gioc waterfall.

The most convinient  way for tourists is to hide a car from Hanoi

Hotels:

There is not any hotel here except some guesthouses. Travellers usually come here within a day and then come back to Cao Bang townlet for going Pac Po cave next day.
