A groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 25 for a rural bridge project in Mit Nai hamlet, La Nga commune. The event was jointly organized by the La Nga commune Party Committee, Dong Nai City Party Committee (CPC)’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and Dong Nai Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board.

Attending the ceremony were Duong Minh Dung, Head of the CPC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization; Le Thi Thai, Deputy Head of the Commission; Most Venerable Thich Thien Tri, Chief Secretary of the Dong Nai Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board; Most Venerable Thich Chon Nghia, Permanent Vice Head of the Charity and Economic Affairs Committee under the Dong Nai Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board; Most Venerable Thich Thien Huy, Abbot of Bao Tinh Pagoda in Tan Trieu ward and President of the Phuoc Viet Bao Tinh Charity Fund; Tran Huu Hanh, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of La Nga commune; along with a large number of local officials and residents of Mit Nai hamlet.
The bridge will be 20 metres long and 3.3 metres wide, with an estimated construction cost of VND450 million. The project is fully funded by Most Venerable Thich Thien Huy through the Phuoc Viet Bao Tinh Charity Fund. In addition, the Most Venerable Thich Thien Huy has pledged financial support of approximately VND100 million to build the access road leading to the bridge.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the sponsor and La Nga commune authorities said the bridge project would fulfil a long-standing aspiration of local residents. Once completed, the bridge is expected to ease travel, facilitate the transport of farm produce and goods, make it easier for local students to go to school, improve living standards and support the commune's socio-economic development.

The project also demonstrates local authorities’ commitment to improving residents' well-being and gradually upgrading rural transport infrastructure to meet the locality's development needs. Once completed, the bridge is expected to improve connectivity, serve as a catalyst for local economic development, enhance residents' quality of life and support La Nga's sustainable development.
