The Hai Thuong Lan Ong Road project spans nearly 1.9 kilometers, with a 28-meter-wide roadbed, a 12-meter-wide carriageway, and sidewalks 8 meters wide on each side. The project has a total investment of VND 90 billion funded through public investment capital and is scheduled for completion within 450 days.
According to Duong Hoai Pha, Deputy Secretary of the Ward Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Xoai Ward People’s Committee, the project is a significant transportation project that local officials, Party members and residents have anticipated for many years. “To implement the project, authorities needed to acquire 98 land plots covering more than 5.1 hectares. Following extensive outreach and public engagement efforts, 48 individuals and households whose properties are affected by the route have voluntarily donated more than 3.1 hectares of land and structures on the land, with an estimated value of approximately VND 15 billion, to facilitate site clearance and project implementation,” Pha said. He added that many residents willingly donated highly valuable land worth billions of VND, believing that once completed, the road will improve transportation, stimulate socio-economic development and enhance the quality of life for local communities.

One of those residents, Tran Minh Hung, whose property lies within the project area, shared his family's decision to support the initiative. “My family owns about 4,800 square meters of land located along the road corridor. Although we understand the considerable value of the property, after discussions with local authorities, we voluntarily agreed to donate the entire area for the road project. We hope the road will be completed soon so that residents can travel more conveniently,” Hung said.
