Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, stated that caring for, protecting, and improving the quality of life for older people is a major policy of the Party and State and a task of profound humanistic significance in the strategy for human development and ensuring sustainable social welfare.

He noted that Vietnam in general and Dong Nai in particular are entering a period of rapid population aging, resulting in growing demand for healthcare, rehabilitation, and long-term care services for older people. Along with urbanization, shrinking family sizes, and the pace of modern life, the development of professional nursing home facilities has become an inevitable trend. This responds to the aspirations of many families for a safe and modern care environment where older people can receive regular medical care and rehabilitation and participate in cultural and spiritual activities to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

The leadership of the City People's Committee said that Dong Nai currently has a population of approximately 5 million, including more than 671,000 older people. However, the city has only 21 social assistance facilities, including just one non-public facility operating under a modern business model specializing in care for older persons, which has yet to meet local demand and development potential.

At the seminar, Dong Nai called on enterprises to invest in nine nursing home projects in various communes and wards with favorable land resources, transport connectivity, and landscape. These include several large-scale projects, such as an integrated nursing home complex in Long Hung Ward covering about 130 hectares, an ecological nursing home in Bau Ham Commune spanning about 50 hectares, a project in Nha Bich Commune with an area of approximately 31 hectares, and a project in Phuoc Long Ward covering approximately 39 hectares. In addition, several medium-scale projects are planned in Dong Tam, Dong Xoai, Binh Phuoc, Ta Lai, and Phu Ly.

Representatives of the city's departments and agencies introduced policies on land, investment, construction, and taxation, while presenting key projects currently seeking investment. Representatives of nursing home facilities nationwide, including Nam An Garden, Duc Thanh Tam, and Dien Hong, shared insights and proposed several recommendations related to the research and implementation of the projects.

Concluding the seminar, Le Truong Son, Member of the CPC’s Standing Board and Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, affirmed that Dong Nai City is committed to supporting investors throughout the project preparation and implementation, continuing to reform administrative procedures, and building a transparent, favorable, and equitable investment environment. The city expects to soon develop a modern, high-quality nursing home system that will not only meet growing demand for elderly care in the context of population aging but also create a high-potential investment sector, contributing to ensuring Dong Nai's social welfare and sustainable development in the coming years. The city designated the Department of Health to serve as the lead agency to coordinate with businesses, investors, and relevant departments and agencies to advance implementation of future nursing home projects.
