In recent years, alongside its strong industrial growth, Dong Nai City has consistently identified job creation for rural workers as a central task to ensure social security and promote sustainable development.

Accordingly, expanding job fairs at the commune level has been defined as a key priority, helping rural workers directly access businesses and recruitment units.
Connecting workers with opportunities
Rural labor continues to account for a significant share in Dong Nai, with most workers engaged in agriculture and traditional occupations. As the labor market evolves, many lack market-relevant skills, limiting their access to stable, well-paid jobs. In response, the city has introduced a range of coordinated measures to improve employment opportunities for rural workers.
In particular, job fairs held in remote and rural communes not only provide access to labor market information but also offer career counseling and guidance tailored to workers’ abilities and practical needs. As a result, these initiatives contribute to more effective job placement and support local socio-economic development.
A job fair held by the Dong Nai Employment Service Center in La Nga Commune in late April 2026 attracted around 350 workers and students exploring job opportunities and taking part in on-site interviews. The lively atmosphere reflected strong local demand for employment.
Arriving early for her interview, Le Thi Hanh said the event offered practical opportunities, enabling workers to engage directly with multiple companies and choose positions suited to their circumstances.
At the event, 12 companies across various sectors were recruiting for more than 7,000 positions, ranging from unskilled labor to skilled and technical roles.
Employers also offered career guidance, outlined benefits and highlighted working conditions to attract candidates.
Requirements for experience and qualifications were relatively flexible, making it easier for rural workers to secure stable employment.

Creating sustainable employment
Nguyen Manh Khoe, Vice Chairman of the La Nga commune People’s Committee, said limited industrial development has left the locality with a high number of job seekers, especially among young people. Against this backdrop, commune-level job fairs have played a key role in easing labor surplus in recent years.
He added that local authorities aim to secure stable employment for 70–80% of ethnic minority residents. To achieve this, they expect the Dong Nai Employment Service Center and employers to provide more targeted guidance, helping residents access suitable job opportunities.
“We will step up outreach efforts so that people in each hamlet are aware of recruitment opportunities and encouraged to attend interviews and find suitable jobs, thereby stabilizing their lives,” Khoe said.
To facilitate job access for rural workers while meeting production demands, many companies in Dong Nai have adopted flexible recruitment strategies. Instead of waiting for applicants, they proactively send recruitment teams to local communities to provide job counseling and hiring services, making opportunities more accessible.
A typical example is Longwell Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Dau Giay ward, which is currently seeking to recruit around 3,000 production workers to expand operations and meet increasing orders. The average monthly income is about VND7.5 million, excluding allowances, bonuses and other benefits. Basic requirements include literacy and being of working age, making these positions suitable for rural workers, especially those without formal training who are seeking stable, long-term employment.
Hoa Thi Phuong Nhi, Chairwoman of the Longwell Vietnam’s Trade Union said that proactively engaging with workers has proven to be an effective approach amid labor market fluctuations. This approach not only helps bridge the gap between employers and workers, but also contributes to local socio-economic development and improves living standards.
According to Nguyen Van Canh, Director of the Dong Nai Employment Service Center, the city’s large industrial zones provide a strong foundation for effective labor market matching. Job fairs and mobile recruitment sessions have been expanded to bring opportunities closer to rural workers, while career counseling and placement services are increasingly prioritized to help workers secure suitable jobs, stabilize their livelihoods and enhance social welfare.
To create sustainable employment, Dong Nai is focusing on vocational training aligned with businesses’ actual needs. Greater use of digital technology in labor market connectivity is also being encouraged to help residents access timely and accurate information. Furthermore, programs sending workers abroad under contracts continue to be promoted, opening up opportunities for higher incomes.
