According to the Provincial Police, from June 28, 2025, to March 10, 2026, the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order issued 6,119 electronic identification (ID) accounts to foreigners whose information and biometric data were collected in Dong Nai. Registering an account helps foreigners travel and work in Vietnam more conveniently.

In addition, immigration management agencies have also introduced a range of favorable measures, shortening the time needed to process temporary residence card applications. In some cases, those entering Vietnam on EV, DN visas, or visa exemption certificates for spouses and children of Vietnamese citizens may be eligible for direct issuance of a temporary residence card without undergoing visa conversion procedures. During the processing of applications for temporary or permanent residence cards at the Immigration Management Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police, officers will review the dossiers and guide foreigners through the process of registering an electronic identification account before they receive the results.

During the activation or login process of an electronic ID account, if encountering errors such as: Notification of activation duplicate ID number, account already activated, incorrect personal information, passport or temporary residence card change, phone change, needing to adjust phone number, email or look up account information..., foreigners can contact the Immigration Management Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police via phone number 0693.480.154; hotline: 1900.0368 or email: hotro.vneid@gmail.com for support.

For organizations or businesses facing difficulties in registering eIDs for their entities, they should contact the local Commune/Ward Police or the Police Division for Administrative Management of Social Order for timely assistance.

According to the police agency, foreigners currently living and working in Vietnam are encouraged to use level-2 electronic identification accounts (VNeID) to carry out civil and economic transactions and administrative procedures such as residence declaration, immigration procedures at border gates, tax declaration, integration of driver's licenses and insurance, marriage registration, banking transactions, and signing house rental contracts. The use of electronic identification accounts helps replace traditional documents and promotes the digitalization of administrative procedures.

In response to these requirements, many foreigners have recently come to the Immigration Management Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police to register for level-2 electronic identification accounts. The eligible groups are not only investors, owners, and business managers (company representatives) but also most eligible foreigners with valid passports and temporary or permanent residence cards.
