Dong Nai: Enterprises retain employees with long-term policies

Against a backdrop of rising labor demand, many enterprises in Dong Nai are proactively adjusting their strategies to retain workers, especially skilled labor. In particular, enterprises are concentrating resources on long-term welfare policies, such as salaries, benefits, and the working environment, to improve workers' quality of life.

These policies are seen as important solutions for stabilizing the production workforce and meeting plans to expand orders in the coming period.

Focusing on welfare policies

In early 2026, Yuen Foong Yu Dong Nai Paper Co., Ltd. (Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province) raised basic salaries by 10% for all employees. Previously, in July 2025, the company raised salaries for more than 150 long-serving employees, with increases ranging from 800,000 VND to 1.2 million VND per person, depending on years of service. Although the increase varied from person to person, everyone was pleased to have extra money to cover living expenses. At present, many employees have been with the company since its early days; quite a few have advanced to management or machine operation positions with high incomes.

Do Nguyen Phuong, Secretary of the Party Cell, Chairman of the Trade Union of Yuen Foong Yu Dong Nai Paper Co., Ltd., said that the company’s long-term policies are the key motivation for employees to feel secure, remain committed, and stay focused on production, especially during peak periods when orders surge, and production is ramped up. In the near future, the company will continue to improve its welfare policies, aiming to build an even better working environment for employees.

Besides salary increases, bonuses, and attendance incentives, employees are also paying greater attention to quality of life and long-term stability. This endeavor includes improving shift meals and providing support for housing and travel expenses. At Elite Long Thanh Co., Ltd. (a business with about 3,800 employees in Loc An - Binh Son Industrial Park, Dong Nai province), the mid-shift meal has been improved in both quality and nutrition, with each meal valued at 28,000 VND per person. In September 2025, this business signed a collective labor agreement containing many provisions beneficial to employees. Specifically, it increased sick-visit support when employees fall ill, raised congratulatory payments when workers have children or get married, and added benefits for female workers.

Nguyen Quoc Hung, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Elite Long Thanh Co., Ltd., said that to promptly grasp employees' thoughts and aspirations, the Trade Union coordinates with the company's Board of Directors to hold regular quarterly meetings. At these meetings, many practical issues directly related to employees' rights are discussed, including improving living conditions, adjusting salaries, bonuses, and allowances, and improving working conditions and ensuring occupational safety and hygiene during production.

According to Hung, all employees' opinions and recommendations are heard, compiled, and considered in order to find appropriate solutions. In particular, the dialogues take place in a democratic, open, and frank atmosphere, creating conditions for employees to express their views while helping business leaders better understand the workforce's difficulties and aspirations. When they feel respected, employees become more committed, more productive, and more responsible in their work.

Increasing long-term welfare policies

Dong Nai is currently one of the dynamic industrial centers in the Southern region, continuing to attract more and more non-state enterprises to invest and expand production and business activities. Amidst rising labor demand and fierce competition in the labor market, improving employee welfare policies is a way for businesses to retain and attract human resources.

At Action Composites Hightech Industries Co., Ltd. (Nhon Trach 3 Industrial Park - Phase 2, Dong Nai province), one of the leading enterprises in the manufacture of high-quality carbon-fiber automotive accessories, production has continued to expand. At the same time, recruitment has increased, with incomes ranging from 8.4 million VND to 11 million VND per person, depending on job position. To attract and retain employees, the company has increased benefits, including skill bonuses, childcare support, dedication bonuses, team bonuses, and 24-hour insurance. With attractive salary and allowance policies, the company has strengthened employees' trust in its development journey in Dong Nai.

To retain employees, the company held a lucky draw program at the beginning of 2026 for its staff and workers. The program was held in an upbeat atmosphere, with 200 attractive prizes worth nearly 500 million VND awarded to employees. This activity was aimed at boosting employees' morale and fostering a spirit of emulation in production from the very first days of the year.

Many businesses focus not only on production and business efficiency but also on building a humane, open working environment where employees are listened to, respected, and recognized for their contributions. According to Nguyen Tan Hung, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Cibao Co., Ltd. (Suoi Tre Industrial Park, Dong Nai province), a positive corporate culture creates cohesion between employees and the company, helping them feel they are part of the collective and thereby giving them greater motivation to make long-term contributions. This undertaking is also an important factor in maintaining the momentum of production growth and the sustainable development of the business community in the area.

Businesses are also promoting training programs, improving skills, and creating opportunities for career advancement and self-development for employees. Nguyen Van Nam, a mechanical worker at Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, said: A comfortable working environment, where businesses care about employees' difficulties and have a clear salary increase roadmap, ensuring sustainable employment, will make employees committed long-term and view the company as their second home.

Improving long-term policies is gradually becoming a "key" not only to help businesses retain human resources but also to provide an important foundation for harmonious, stable, and long-term labor relations between businesses and employees. Businesses recognize that retaining a skilled worker is much more beneficial than recruiting and retraining new staff. Therefore, increasing benefits is not an expense, but an investment in sustainable development.
