In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year (Tet), the atmosphere at businesses in Dong Nai province has grown warmer, as many activities to care for workers' material and spiritual lives have been meaningfully and practically implemented by all levels of Trade Unions.

With the motto "Every trade union member and worker has Tet," these programs have helped workers feel secure in their jobs and enjoy a full and meaningful Tet.

Many practical activities

Dong Nai has more than 1.4 million workers, many of whom come from other provinces and face challenging economic conditions. Understanding this, the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation has directed grassroots Trade Unions (GTUs) to coordinate with businesses in organizing early Tet care activities for union members and workers. Notable among these are the "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Gan Ket" (Tet reunion - Spring connection) program, the Trade Union Year-end Meal, and the distribution of Tet gifts and bus tickets for workers returning home for the holiday.

Trade Unions at all levels in Dong Nai pay special attention to union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances, including those who have suffered workplace accidents or occupational diseases, those affected by natural disasters, and those experiencing reduced working hours, job loss, or unpaid wages and bonuses. At present, Trade Unions at all levels have completed updating the list of workers facing hardship and those unable to return home for Tet, to organize diverse and flexible forms of support. At the same time, they are distributing bus and train tickets and carefully preparing Tet gift packages to help ease the burden on workers far from home or unable to travel during the holiday.

The Provincial Labor Federation has allocated 9,300 electronic gift vouchers (e-vouchers), each worth 500,000 VND, to grassroots units through the Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026 Program organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. With just a few taps on a smartphone, trade union members can shop online for a wide range of essential consumer goods to prepare for Tet. This undertaking is considered a practical form of support suited to workers’ conditions, especially for those on shifts who have limited time for in-person shopping. Goods will be delivered directly to their homes, helping workers save both time and travel costs.

Doan Van Ninh, who works at Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park in Tran Bien Ward, said his hometown is in Nghe An province, but for the past three years, he has been unable to return home to celebrate Tet with his family. Understanding his circumstances, the Trade Union gave him an early Tet gift and an online shopping voucher through the Trade Union Tet Market. "When I received the shopping voucher, I was thrilled and surprised. Thanks to the voucher, I was able to buy more essential items for my family, which helped ease the financial burden. The Tet market not only helps workers save money but also creates a warm atmosphere for Tet. I am truly grateful for the practical care the Trade Union has given to workers," Ninh said.

According to the Provincial Labor Federation, due to the large area and large number of workers, the unit has divided the area into 5 regions to organize the Tet Reunion Program, focusing on areas with many industrial parks and crowded worker dormitories. In addition to cultural and artistic activities, the program also highlights raffle draws and Tet gift presentations for union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Each gift not only carries material value but also demonstrates the Trade Union organization's care, sharing, and efforts in caring for workers' lives.

Organizing Tet early for workers

In recent days, many grassroots Trade Unions have organized the distribution of thousands of Tet gifts directly to workers in difficult circumstances, including those who have suffered work accidents or serious illnesses, and those who have not been able to return home for Tet for many years.

Le Thi Hanh, one of 50 disadvantaged workers who recently received Tet gifts from the grassroots Trade Union of Longwell Vietnam Co., Ltd. (in Dau Giay commune), shared emotionally: "Receiving Tet gifts from the Trade Union, I felt very touched. Year-end expenses are high, and although the gift is not large, it is a truly practical expression of care. Thank you to the Trade Union for always standing by and supporting workers like us."

The programs "Spring of Love," "Warm Tet," and "Enjoy Spring with Workers' Families", organized by grassroots Trade Unions at enterprises, have created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere among workers.

Duong Hoang An, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union at Jason Furniture Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dong Xoai III Industrial Park, Binh Phuoc Ward), said that in recent days, the grassroots Trade Union has been actively preparing resources and gifts to organize the "Tet Sum Vay" (Tet Reunion) program for workers on January 31. The program will feature many engaging activities for workers, along with valuable prizes such as motorbikes, sofas, electric fans, and more. It is expected to carry strong humanitarian meaning, contributing to a warm and fulfilling Tet for union members.

Caring for trade union members and workers during Tet is not only a responsibility but also an expression of affection and gratitude for their contributions to the development of enterprises and localities. These activities help foster increasingly harmonious and stable labor relations, contributing to retaining workers and motivating them to feel secure and remain committed to the enterprise in the long term after Tet.

BUI THI BICH THUY, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial Labor Federation

"When organizing the Tet Reunion program at enterprises, we focus on selecting practical activities that suit the actual conditions of workers, especially those in difficult circumstances and those from distant hometowns. The program not only brings joy and warmth in the days leading up to Tet, but also helps strengthen the connection between workers and enterprises, creating motivation for them to feel secure in their jobs and remain committed long-term," Duong Hoang An shared.

In addition to the proactive efforts of Trade Union organizations, many enterprises across the province also demonstrate social responsibility through practical welfare policies for workers. Alongside Tet bonuses based on production and business performance, enterprises organize year-end parties, raise wages, give Tet gifts, arrange transportation for workers returning home, or support travel expenses. The timely support from Trade Unions and businesses helps workers in Dong Nai celebrate Tet in a warm, meaningful atmosphere. This undertaking is also an essential foundation for building an increasingly strong working class that contributes positively to the province’s socio-economic development in the new year.
