In early January 2026, a reporter from Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television observed that preparations to meet residents’ travel demands for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 were being actively, synchronously, and proactively carried out at bus stations across the province by relevant units.

Increasing capacity and ensuring traffic safety

At Dong Nai Bus Station (Tam Hiep Ward, operated by Dong Nai Station and Transportation Services Joint Stock Company), ticket prices for the 2026 Tet holiday have been publicly posted in accordance with regulations. The station has also displayed information boards listing fixed routes departing from the station, making it easier for passengers to access information and choose suitable routes to return to their hometowns for Tet.

Dong Nai Bus Station currently has 11 transport operators that have been operating stably for many years, meeting the travel needs of residents both inside and outside the province. According to Deputy Head of the station Pham Quang Nhan, following directives from provincial leaders, the company’s management and station leadership have early developed peak-period service plans for Tet. One key task is to sign agreements with transport operators on Tet ticket sales, while also stepping up communication and advocacy to encourage operators to invest in improving vehicle quality and service standards. The station also reminds operators and vehicle owners to strictly comply with legal regulations on driver qualifications and vehicle technical safety.

In parallel, the station has repainted traffic markings and installed directional signage within the premises to ensure orderly parking and smooth passenger pick-up and drop-off, while strengthening environmental sanitation and checking fire prevention and firefighting measures.

“During the Tet peak period, the station will deploy staff on duty 24 hours a day to guide passengers and promptly handle arising situations. At the same time, we will coordinate with traffic inspectors, traffic police, and local police to strengthen patrols and checkpoints to ensure security and order inside and outside the station,” Nhan said.

At Bien Hoa Bus Station (Tran Bien Ward), Deputy Director in charge Trinh Hoai Vinh stated that, under the direction of the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Construction, the station has developed a passenger transport service plan to ensure traffic order and safety during the Lunar New Year and early 2026 festivals. Accordingly, the station has focused on upgrading its facilities, enhancing information dissemination through the loudspeaker system on routes, fares, and services; reviewing the posting of information in waiting areas and on vehicles; and publicizing a hotline number to receive passenger feedback.

Currently, Bien Hoa Bus Station is collaborating with major and reputable transport operators at the station, requesting that they increase the number of vehicles (including backup vehicles) and invest in service quality to meet the Tet travel demand.

A new feature this Tet is that Thanh Cong transport operator (Thanh Cong Transport Co., Ltd., Binh Phuoc Ward) has registered to operate a fixed route between Truong Hai Bus Station and Bien Hoa Bus Station, covering a distance of 84 kilometers. The route has been in operation since July 1, 2025, with three trips per day, and has proactively prepared additional vehicles for the Tet peak. “Thanh Cong currently has more than 20 vehicles and commits to mobilizing both manpower and vehicles better to serve residents’ travel needs within the province,” Vinh said.

Ready for the Tet peak

According to Nguyen Xuan Tien, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Station and Transportation Services Joint Stock Company and Head of Long Khanh Bus Station, the station currently operates 15 fixed passenger routes, with approximately 34 vehicles serving provinces and cities nationwide, primarily in the Mekong Delta and Central Highlands regions. Notably, for many years, several transport operators at the station have registered to operate two routes: Long Khanh Bus Station – Bu Dang and Long Khanh Bus Station – Phuoc Long.

Anticipating increased travel demand during Tet, the station’s leadership has requested operators to invest in additional vehicles and increase the number of trips, while strictly enforcing regulations on fire and explosion prevention, public order, and road traffic safety.

Recently, the Dong Nai Provincial Department of Construction issued a directive requiring agencies, units, enterprises, and transport cooperatives to strengthen measures to ensure traffic order and safety and to better serve residents’ travel needs during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. Accordingly, transport enterprises and cooperatives are required to intensify monitoring and inspection of trip operations and speed, preventing speeding, driving beyond permitted hours, deviating from registered routes, or competing for passengers in a manner that disrupts public order and traffic safety.

Bus station operators and transport cooperatives are required to strictly handle violations related to failure to meet pre-departure operating conditions. They must review and ensure the full and transparent posting of all information, as prescribed, at bus stations and terminals, including service quality standards for routes operating from the station. They are also instructed to coordinate with local police to maintain security and public order in and around the station, and to work with transport operators serving routes at the station to promptly deploy additional vehicles to ease passenger congestion, avoiding overcrowding or situations in which passengers are left without transportation during the Tet holiday.

The province currently has 358 licensed transport operators, including 18 bus companies, 26 fixed-route operators, and 11 taxi companies. More than 33,300 vehicles have been issued operating badges, including 220 buses, 434 fixed-route vehicles, 37 feeder vehicles, over 6,800 contract vehicles, more than 1,900 taxis, over 20,500 trucks, and more than 3,200 container tractors. This fleet is expected to adequately meet residents’ travel demand during the upcoming Tet holiday.

Thanks to the early, proactive, and coordinated preparations of relevant agencies, bus stations, and transport enterprises, residents in Dong Nai are hopeful for safe and convenient journeys, contributing to a joyful and fulfilling spring season.
