Paying tribute at Phuoc Long Martyrs' Cemetery and Ba Ra Mountain Martyrs' Temple

On the morning of January 3, the Organizing Committee of the 31st National Cross-Country Mountain Climbing Tournament "Conquering the Peak of Ba Ra" in 2026 paid tribute at the Phuoc Long Martyrs' Cemetery and the Ba Ra Mountain Martyrs' temple in Phuoc Long Ward, Dong Nai Province. This meaningful activity demonstrates the respect and gratitude to the heroic martyrs in Phuoc Long before the event, which is scheduled to be held on the morning of January 4.

Attending the memorial ceremony were representatives from the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Editorial Board of Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television (DNNRT), and the leaders of Phuoc Long ward.

Conquering the Peak of Ba Ra is a cross-country tournament that was initiated in the 1990s. Originally a grassroots sporting event organised by the Phuoc Long District’s Youth Union of the former Song Be Province for local youth union members and young people, the race has become increasingly vibrant and developed over the years. Today, it has officially become the National Cross-Country Mountain Climbing Tournament "Conquering the Peak of Ba Ra", attracting thousands of athletes. Each year, the race is held on a particularly significant occasion in commemoration of the Phuoc Long victory on January 6.

Following the tribute-paying ceremony at the Phuoc Long Martyrs' Cemetery and the Ba Ra Mountain Martyrs' Temple, representatives of the Organizing Committee visited and presented gifts to three outstanding policy beneficiary families in Phuoc Long ward. Each gift was worth 2.9 million VND.
