Young people in Dong Nai share journeys of creating values

07:44, 08/12/2025

Within the framework of the solemn session of the 1st Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union Congress, term 2025–2030, delegates heard presentations on the journeys of striving to become exemplary union members; the start-up process contributing to enhancing agricultural value through green, ecological, and digital transformation approaches; and the implementation of digital transformation within Youth Union activities at localities.

This serves as vivid evidence of the results achieved in Youth Union work and movements of teenagers and children, while also offering valuable lessons for Youth Union organisations, members, and young people across the province.

“Red seeds” strive to become party members

Sharing her journey towards becoming a Party member, Hoang Ngoc Thanh Truc, a student from Dong Nai University, noted that striving for Party admission is not a journey of being chosen but one of choosing for oneself.

To become an outstanding Youth Union member and later a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam, she chose to live with discipline, proactivity, and readiness to step beyond her comfort zone. From her first year at university, she realised that this was not only a place to acquire professional knowledge but also the starting point of a serious journey towards Party membership with clear goals.

"I want to join the Party because I believe in the Party, believe in its steadfastness, believe in the nation's development path, and the silent sacrifices of predecessors. I want to be present where it is most difficult, doing the work no one else wants to do, dedicating my youth to the collective. I want to become a Party member because I want to live with a purpose greater than myself, live more meaningfully and responsibly, and be trained in a more disciplined and standardised environment so that I can mature. Above all, I want to become a Party member because I want to become the best version of myself," she emphasised.

Alongside her academic efforts, she participated in nearly all major and minor programmes and activities, including maintaining dormitory hygiene, joining the Green Summer Campaign, assisting with school communication efforts, supporting disadvantaged children, and coordinating various activities. Through these experiences, she cultivated discipline, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility, all forged through small daily actions. She realised that, to become a Party member, words must go hand in hand with actions; one must not make empty promises, must dare to take on difficult tasks, and must be willing to correct mistakes and embrace change.

Drawing from her own experience, she suggested that to effectively foster Party development among students, it is essential to increase activities that help them understand the Party correctly. Opportunities should be created for students to be challenged and trained early through assigned responsibilities. More "Red Seeds” Clubs should be established to gather and nurture students who aspire to join the Party while also promoting the image of young Party members in the new era.

Promoting digital transformation in grassroots youth union activities

Representing the Youth Union of Tam Phuoc Ward, Nguyen Thi My Tien, Deputy Secretary of the Ward Youth Union, reported that amid the strong development of the fourth industrial revolution, particularly in concretising Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, the Youth Union of Tam Phuoc Ward has implemented various practical and effective digital transformation initiatives.

Communication efforts have been strengthened, especially online, using products such as infographics, short videos, and livestreams to deliver information to young people more quickly and vividly. Administrative tasks, including member management, surveys, activity registration, and attendance, have all been moved online, saving time, improving accuracy, and increasing transparency.

A notable highlight is the “Digital Congress” model applied to the 1st Tam Phuoc Ward Youth Union Congress, for the 2025–2030 term. Delegates were provided with iPads to access electronic documents; facial recognition check-in replaced traditional methods; and a dedicated congress website was developed to publish documents, videos, and infographics. This model not only reduced printing costs but also enhanced professionalism, modernity, and accessibility in the eyes of members and the community.

Building on its achievements, the Tam Phuoc Ward Youth Union has set three key tasks to accelerate digital transformation: establishing a digital youth branch, strengthening digital communications, and implementing community-level digital transformation. Priorities include standardising member data, organising hybrid meetings combining in-person and online activities, and forming digital support teams.

The Ward Youth Union also proposes that Party committees, authorities, and the Provincial Youth Union continue supporting grassroots Youth Union units by providing digital infrastructure, technology training for Youth Union officers, the development of shared platforms, and the linkage of digital transformation outcomes with emulation criteria.

Enhancing the value of organic agricultural products

Addressing the congress, Dang Duong Minh Hoang, Director of Thien Nong Farm (Phu Nghia Commune) and Head of the national Luong Dinh Cua Network, stated that Vietnamese agriculture continues to face fragmentation, weak linkages, and suboptimal value chains, leading to low efficiency and limited competitiveness. In this context, digital transformation becomes essential to improving productivity, reducing costs, ensuring transparency, and connecting markets more effectively, thereby laying the foundation for modern, and sustainable agricultural development.

With the desire to contribute to this process and with support from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, he joined the establishment of the national Luong Dinh Cua Network. Identifying digital transformation as "a train that cannot be missed", network members have pioneered the application of digital technologies in farm management, monitoring, and traceability through production digitalisation and the use of electronic logs for each cultivation zone and processing stage.

Several models have even digitised each plant using individual QR codes, enabling detailed monitoring and building strong consumer trust. Through organic farming, smart irrigation, drone technology, and strict quality testing, many of the network members' products have been purchased by major international corporations. Furthermore, forming linkages to cooperatives, adopting mechanisation, and investing in deep processing have increased product value, reduced market risks, and expanded export opportunities.

Hoang proposed several solutions to enhance the value of organic agricultural products and promote digitalisation across agricultural chains. These include policies that support young people and farmers in applying information technology, especially electronic logs in production; development of carbon credit markets to promote green agriculture; agencies, departments, branches, banks, and financial institutions transparently announce preferential loan programs for digital agriculture and organic agriculture, creating conditions for safe access to capital.

At the same time, he emphasised that it is necessary to develop software systems to monitor the use of State budget funds and to strengthen agricultural insurance to minimise risks caused by climate change. Communication activities should be enhanced to highlight and honour effective models of digital agriculture and organic production. Efforts should also be made to promote the transfer of science and technology, fostering connections between institutes and universities, scientists and enterprises, to bring technology closer to farmers.

Hoang expressed his hope that the start-up youth community will continue to receive support from the Provincial Youth Union, local authorities, and relevant sectors to access science and technology and preferential resources, enabling sustainable development and greater contributions to building agricultural brands for the province, Vietnam, and the world.
