On the afternoon of December 6, in Tan Phu commune, Dong Nai province, the Regional Defense Command 2 - Long Khanh under the Provincial Military Command coordinated with Tan Phu commune, Cho Ray Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City) to organize a volunteer program to provide free medical examination and medicine to people with meritorious services to the revolution, the elderly, poor and near-poor households in Tan Phu commune. The Secretary of the Tan Phu Commune Party Committee expressed his deep gratitude to the agencies and units that have coordinated with the locality to carry out the charity program. After the ceremony, over 570 gifts (averaging 300,000 VND/gift) were given to the poor and households of revolutionary contributors in Tan Phu commune.
At Ta Lai commune, the Regional Defense Command 2 - Long Khanh Command Board coordinated with the Department of Internal Medicine, Cho Ray Hospital and donors to hand over a military-civilian gratitude house to K'Thi Pon, 66 years old, residing in Hamlet 4, Ta Lai commune.
The house covers a total area of 72 square meters and is worth 123 million VND; of which, the Regional Defense Command 2 - Long Khanh mobilized 50 million VND from the Gastroenterology Department of Cho Ray Hospital, while the Cultural Department of Ta Lai commune supported 10 million VND; the Incubation of Intelligence volunteer group supported 12.5 million VND; benefactors donated 20.5 million VND. The remaining amount was covered by the family itself.
Trinh Van Luan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Ta Lai Commune People's Council, said: Ta Lai Commune still has about 170 households in need of housing repairs or new homes. At the same time, Ta Lai Commune hopes that many philanthropists and benefactors will continue to support the construction of new houses to help people with housing difficulties.
