Spreading good deeds in grassroots trade unions at enterprises

Dong Nai is regarded as Vietnam's “industrial hub,” home to dozens of industrial zones and clusters, with hundreds of thousands of workers tirelessly contributing to the province’s socio-economic development. In this dynamic working environment, grassroots trade unions at enterprises have been affirming their role as a solid “bridge” between employees and employers. This reliable support system protects workers' legitimate rights and interests while motivating them to remain committed and dedicated to their work.

In recent years, grassroots trade unions across Dong Nai have implemented numerous effective models and creative initiatives to deliver practical benefits to union members and workers. Prominent examples include movements such as “Good workers, creative workers” and “Green - Clean - Beautiful, Ensuring occupational safety and hygiene,” as well as competitions such as “Golden hands” and “Technical innovation for productivity improvement,” which have attracted broad employee participation. In addition, grassroots trade unions at enterprises have also paid special attention to meaningful social welfare activities such as building “Trade Union Shelter”, presenting Tet gifts and scholarships to workers’ children, organizing “Zero-dong markets,” “Tet Reunion” events, “Workers’ Month,” and the “Compassionate arms” program to support workers suffering from serious illnesses.

These practical efforts not only help businesses reduce costs, enhance operational efficiency, and improve workers’ incomes but also provide timely support to employees facing hardship, fostering a spirit of solidarity and compassion within the business community and allowing workers to truly feel the care and support of trade union organizations.

To replicate exemplary models and effective practices, in addition to close guidance from higher-level trade unions, it is essential to build a team of capable, dedicated, and well-informed grassroots union officers who understand labor laws, possess strong advocacy and communication skills, and know how to listen to workers. They are the "soul" of trade union activities, the source of creative and compassionate actions that serve the collective interest. To this end, higher-level trade unions must strengthen professional training and create environments where union officers can develop and mature, equipping them with the capacity to genuinely represent workers’ voices in the context of deep international integration.

Promoting and multiplying acts of kindness within grassroots trade unions is not only an expression of solidarity and social responsibility but also a foundation for building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations. This essential factor helps Dong Nai maintain its position as a dynamic industrial center where workers can work in peace of mind and grow sustainably alongside their enterprises.
