(ĐN)- On May 19, Dong Nai provincial People's Committee held a tree planting ceremony and reviewed five years of implementing the Prime Minister’s One Billion Trees Project for the 2021–2025 period.

According to the report, nearly 20.6 million trees had been planted across the province by the end of 2024. With a plan to plant another 4.4 million trees in 2025, the province is expected to reach over 25 million trees in total—exceeding the provincial target by 5 million trees and surpassing the national target by 221%.
Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang of the provincial People's Committee emphasized the importance of tree planting in the context of rapid industrial and urban development, especially as about 200 hectares of forest land are expected to be repurposed. Dong Nai currently maintains a 52% green coverage rate and a forest coverage rate of 28.7%, meeting and exceeding provincial targets.
On this occasion, the province awarded certificates of merit to 27 collectives, 37 individuals, and 4 households for their contributions to the project.
