The government official observed the clearance of over 1,800ha of land for the first phase of the airport project and the construction progress of the Loc An – Binh Son resettlement area for affected locals.
According to Chairman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee Cao Tien Dung, the province has made every effort to implement the land acquisition, land clearance and compensation for affected people.
The province will present 1,800ha of cleared land to the investor in this October as scheduled. The remaining 3,000ha is expected to be transferred to the investor within the second quarter of 2021, Dung noted.
After six months of construction, priority items at the Loc An – Binh Son resettlement area have been completed, including roads and water drainage systems, while the contractors are focusing on installing the lighting, electricity and water supply systems, among others.
Deputy PM Binh acknowledged the efforts of Dong Nai Province in carrying out land clearance over the past time. He also urged the province to continue to accelerate the progress of the remaining work as the airport is an important project which is expected to make significant contributions to provincial and national socio-economic development.
He also asked the province to soon complete the resettlement area to hand over to affected people so that they can begin to build their homes.
